Chapter 3

I woke up with pain radiating through my body. I looked at the clock and, to my surprise, it was already 9 AM! I’m late for work! I ran towards the bathroom, washed my face, washed my wet v****a, brushed my teeth, and dressed up. No time for breakfast now. I grabbed my bag and car keys and ran down the stairs. I drove to work as fast as I could and as I entered the building, I was dumbfounded to see Atticus in the lobby reading our catalog. In an instant, I covered my face with my bag and walked slowly, not catching his attention. Why is he here? Is he looking for me? I took the elevator and was relieved as the elevator door closed. “Luna! How was your night with Atticus?!” Vicky asked loudly as I asked the office. “Shhh shut your mouth. Others might hear you” I told her, almost whispering. “Uh-huh? So it means that something happened. Right?” She said with a teasing smile on her face. “Ugh. Why did you leave me alone there?” I said, rolling my eyes at her. “To let you have fun? I had fun myself, you know?” she said, curling the tip of her hair. “Whatever. So how’s your night with the rich guy?” “Oh come on, Luna. I know you’re just changing the topic, but I won’t let you do that. Now tell me, did you lose your virginity?” “Ugh!!! What kind of gross question is that, Vicky!?” She laughed at my reaction. “I knew it!” She exclaimed, reading my mind. This girl is really quick-witted. Vicky pulls a chair and sits on it, ready to listen to my story while batting her eyelashes waiting for me to spill the tea. What else can I do then? This girl will pester me the whole day if I don't say a word. “Yes, we did what you expected we would do. Happy?” I told her and rolled my eyes at her. “Very happy and satisfied,” she said, grinning from ear to ear. “So are you guys a thing now or is it just a one-night stand?” Vicky asked, expecting something big from me. “Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you but it’s just a one-night stand,” I said, starting to open up the files on my computer. The door in my office opens and Vicky’s secretary, Leila, takes a peek. “Yes?” I asked Leila because she seemed like she was looking for someone. “Oh! Miss Luna, you’re here! A hot guy downstairs is looking for you. He said his name was Atticus”. Vicky’s jaw dropped and her eyes sparkled with joy. “One-night stand, Luna?! I don’t think so!” Vicky said, walking towards me and she shook my shoulders like crazy. This girl really loves to be physical. Gosh, I don’t want to see Atticus today. I’m so shy and embarrassed. “Tell him I’m not around,” I told Leila, but Vicky shook her head to her secretary. “No, no, no. Tell the guy Luna is here. I’ll go with you” Vicky said, running towards Leila and dragging her out. Goodness, gracious! What should I do? I don’t even have proper makeup on. I really don’t want to see him right now and, as crazy as it is, I’m actually scared that things will move to the next level. I’ve never had a boyfriend before and I just don’t know how to handle these things! I grab my bag and hurriedly put some makeup on and just as I finish, the door opens and there stands Vicky and Atticus. Vicky’s eyes are googling, trying to talk to me using a mind link, but I don’t understand what she’s trying to say. What’s wrong with this woman? She looks like a freaking owl now. Atticus, on the other hand, can’t stop staring at me and he is smiling. So it wasn’t just the alcohol that made him desire me? “So Luna, Atticus here asks permission if he can pull you out for lunch later, but then, I know you haven’t eaten breakfast, so I suggested that you guys have breakfast together,” Vicky says, and now my eyes widen like a tarsier. What is she talking about? How did she even know I hadn’t had breakfast yet? “I have work, Vicky,” I tell her, and Atticus sighs, maybe hurt by what I’ve said. “No work today! You can leave and my secretary will be doing some of the job, okay?” Vicky says and starts goggling her eyes again with some facial expressions now. Gosh, she looks weird. She looks like having a face dance. “Fine, just stop what you’re doing with your face. You look terrible and you’ll have wrinkles because of that” told Vicky and both of their faces lit up. I collect all my makeup and put it in my bag. Was it obvious that I put some makeup on just because he was coming? Before I left the office, Vicky was giggling and now I can read her face saying I should go and enjoy myself. Well, maybe she’s even telling me to make a move. “You look gorgeous,” Atticus says the moment we’re out of my office. That made my heart melt although I don't think I look good enough. I haven’t even taken a proper bath. Gosh, do I smell bad? “Thank you. You also look great”, I responded. He’s wearing a Barocco Silk shirt from Versace and his long hair is neatly bun. What a pleasing sight in the morning. But wait… why does he even look good? I mean, we drank a lot last night and that gave me a terrible hangover. I even woke up late and wasn’t able to take a bath and the moment I arrived, he was already in the lobby. But then he looks this good? Life is really unfair. The elevator was a bit jammed when we reached it and the employees had those wandering faces looking at me and Atticus. I know what they’re thinking. I bet they’re guessing if he is my boyfriend or maybe my cousin. Atticus is even wearing an expensive shirt that gives more interest to on-lookers. We get in the elevator and out of nowhere, Atticus puts his muscular arm around my shoulder. I could feel the shocked faces of the people around me and I myself was shocked as well. Should I feel good or feel awkward? My body stiffens, not knowing what to feel. Atticus smells so good. I can smell a blend of fresh, spicy, and musky scents. I bet he’s using Sauvage by Christian Dior. This guy is expensively hot. I look at Atticus’s face and he’s just smiling. Is he enjoying this? Is he playing a game with me? “Where do you want to have breakfast?” Atticus asks and his husky, sexy voice resonates inside the elevator. Now, this is awkward. What will these employees say? They’ll think I’m slacking off and just having breakfast with a guy when, in fact, it’s working hours. “Umm… Uh… anywhere is fine.” My mind is not working right now. I have lots of questions in my mind and my body doesn’t know how to respond, knowing that a hot guy is next to me. The guy who explored my body last night.
