Vultra and his army of shadow demons returned to the demon realm but not just any place in the demon realm. They were in front of the dark throne- the castle of the diamonds; a specie of demons who could wield the power of the four demon species.
Their castle was a fortress palace towering above all other palaces in the demon realms, planted at the heart of the demon realm, carved out of a black cosmic element the demons found in their realm- Ziphyr. The palace was visible from all directions as it was surrounded by the residing demon cities. From a far distance, the arrangement resembled an insignia. The diamonds were few in number but commanded a lot of fear and respect due to their unique ability. Also, they were all from one bloodline. What gave the demon Lord a leap in power was something dark, ancient, powerful and corruptive if the user wasn't mentally formidable. A power that was only whispered.
Standing outside the demon lord's castle gave some of the shadow soldiers prickles on their skin. The aura around the castle screamed absolute power. Even the royal guards were ex-demon kings and army commanders though they were few.
Vultra walked to the large doors of the gargantuan castle which had four insignias on it. He bowed to the two guards in front. They were ex-demon kings, that of the shadows by his right and that of hell by his left.
“What business do you have here Vultra?” Damian, ex-hell king asked rather arrogantly, putting on a stern look to intimidate the young commander.
Vultra stood up and looked up at the two guards without any iota of fear. Vultra himself had a gruesome past that had made him quite the cruel demon.
“Am here on command of the demon lord” he replied in a low tone.
Callis, the shadow guard immediately disappeared into shadows.
“You've got quite the attitude young commander. I might have to clear the little doubt you got about me one of these days.” Damian threatened.
“You can go in. He’s in his training room sparring with his son.” Callis instructed.
“So better tread carefully” Damian whispered mockingly.
The doors opened and Vultra entered. The doors closed and then he disappeared into shadows. He immediately appeared in the training room of the demon lord where he was sparring with his son. It looked like they were fighting on par but the difference in power was still clear. The room itself was built to withstand the force and power of the diamonds just like what was happening. Azron was only depending on his martial arts and the shadow ability while his son Belza was throwing flames all over the room trying to catch his father with a shot. His father disappeared into the floor and appeared in flashes striking him each time. Belza got furious and flamed up, this time his flames were blue but his father didn't strike this time. He just appeared in front of his son and struck a blast of purple flames. Belza followed suit, His flames blue in colour. The flames struck at the centre and the whole training room was lit up, a side blue, a side purple. Azron was turning out to be the clear winner with an arm behind him. Belza saw that he was pushed back and then added the power of his second arm. He then started moving forward. It looked like the tide of the battle was turning.
“This boy really wants to beat his father” Vultra said with folded arms, taking refuge at the weapons vault in a corner of the room.
Azron saw the effort Belza was making and just smiled. He then took a deep breath and his chest started glowing. The energy moved to his arm. The power of his purple flames increased three times over. Belza was beginning to move back, faster this time. He added power but he wasn't slowing down. Azron's flames eventually engulfed his own and he was sent crashing into the hard Ziphyr walls of the room. Azron immediately sped to his son's side and helped him up.
“You're injured” Azron said looking at the black blood dripping from his side.
“Its nothing father.” Belza denied.
“There's no need to hide your pain my boy” Azron said placing his palm on the wound. After some seconds, he removed his palm and the wound had closed up.
“There you go boy; good as new. Nothing a little dark magic can't fix” he tapped him playfully.
“Looks like you have a visitor father,” Belza said throwing a look at Vultra.
“Yes I do”
“I'll get going” Belza said and sped out of the room.
“Greetings my Lord” Vultra bowed.
“Yes Vultra, I can see you're back from the hunt but you don't come bearing gifts.” Azron responded sternly, no iota of emotion, not even a pinch of anger.
Vultra was now under immense pressure. The response was calm considering his failure but he was just scared by the immense energy coming off the demon lord.
“Sheltaz and Drongo were able to capture the boy but they were interrupted by an angel; Zachros A.K.A the archangel of lightning.” Vultra explained, his usual confidence faltering.
“Is that all?”
“A leviathan was there protecting the boy and the angel” Vultra added.
“A leviathan….the boy….an angel… the combo isn't making sense here” Azron thought.
“Why would the Leviathan be protecting the angel?” Azron asked, moving a bit closer.
“The angel had been poisoned and…….”
“That's the good news I’ve been waiting for.” Azron lit up.
“What do you mean sire?” Vultra asked, quite surprised by what the demon lord took as the good news.
“The angel being injured means everything's going according to plan my commander” Azron said with a smile plastered on his face.
“And tell Drongo he did well” Azron added.
“But sire, the leviathan….she killed Sheltaz, one of our king Rivetia's commanders.” Vultra complained.
“A she you say? I know who you speak of.’
Vultra flinched. He was so eager to know the identity of the one who killed Sheltaz.
“Her name is Sharaqi. The sister to one of the first abomination and the aunt of the latest one.” Azron calmly explained. For someone who his commander was killed by a dragon, Vultra took him to be a little too calm.
“My lord. I suggest we launch an attack on the dragons in retaliation.” Vultra blasted in anger maintaining his tone though to avoid disrespecting a being who could kill him in minutes.
“Now that's where you got it all wrong Vultra. We are to attack the angelic realm.”
“But the dragons…one of their own killed one of ours” Vultra lamented.
“The dragons are a much formidable foe compared to the angels and they lack the one thing that we need; the Quadbrid. Sheltaz died with honour and she won't be forgotten but that boy is the major priority.”
Azron said.
“Yes my lord” Vultra bowed.
“That boy is a primordial being, a being who possesses the power of all four realms, a being with the power to tip the scales of this war in our favor. All he just needs is training and patience and we have an entity” Azron explained smiling unusually.
“I'll start making plans with some other commanders for an attack on the angelic realm” Vultra said.
“That will be good Vultra, you're dismissed.” Azron responded.
“Thank you my lord” Vultra bowed and sunk into his shadow with only one thought in mind; killing Sharaqi A.K.A Vanessa.
