CHAPTER 2: CALLING FOR HELP

1425 Words
Patton used about 35 minutes to get to Clint's house located at the edge of Quagmire city. He cycled in between fresh deciduous trees, lined by each side having a nice emerald glow to them, roses and sunflowers blooming in ecstatic colours. Instead of the normal rocky road, a path of marbled blackstone stretched towards the gate. The large gates stood tall and mighty above him with golden sharp arrow spikes at its top and at the top centre, the engraving of a red dragon breathing fire was very significant. The gate itself was polished so smoothly it made him seem like he was lost in its beauty. He didn’t have to knock, the gates opened gracefully on its own. He cycled through the magnificent gates and looking to his right he saw the car park which took up some space but not too much. The car collection was breathtaking. A white rolls Royce phantom, a black rolls Royce spectre, a black hydrogen powered supercar and some land cruiser prados. “Clint's got some explaining on why some dimwits have the balls to bully him. He parked his bicycle at the car park. He moved forward and saw a car covered in golden cloth. “Maybe its a special edition” he simply thought. He looked up and then saw the exquisite mansion. Just the exterior was breathtaking, its walls carved from white sapphire veined with gold, its towers aiming for the last rays of the sunset. Windows of designed glass revealed the beauty of the magnificent garden just east of his lefthandside. The smell of roses, sunflowers, berries mixed in the atmosphere. It was quite the beauty. The front doors stood firm and resolved plated with gold and crowned with onyx handles. By each side were dragon headed statues..like gargoyles with their eyes looking so alive. He could swear he saw their rocky upper rise, as if they breathed. He reached for the door handles but it opened on its own just like the gates. He met a female standing in front of him, looked forty to him. “You can come in young boy” she said. “Thank you madam, I came to see Miss Vanessa.” He responded. “Ok, she’s just upstairs, I'll tell her you’re here.” She said as she left for the stairs. The interior was where the beauty lay. A huge cut above the usual mansion. The grand sitting room stretched wide, tiled with reflecting blue marble laced with gold linings. They were six cushions all having golden engravings with elegant designs arranged in pentagon fashion. In the centre of the cushions stood a vast mahogany table, deep luster and smooth as glass. Diamond chandeliers hung from the ceiling dispersing colors across the room, making the air sparkle. Damask curtains of black and gold colour hung from high windows giving the room a traditional and opulent outlook. On the walls hung paintings that looked so alive their eyes seemed to follow him. The staircases were somewhat of a twin design aligned in perfect synchrony with gold well polished railings and black marbled stairs. In the centre of the sitting room where he stood was a golden dragon insignia with red flames surrounding it. There was something so mystical about the mansion, the whole compound from the outside to the inside. Something he couldn't explain. He couldn't deny the fact that the place was amazing though. “This place is amazing!” he shouted, his voice echoing in amusement. “Of course it is” a female voice replied. The voice was different from the one that received him earlier, he coud tell from the tenderness and the tone. “I can't be amazing and the house won't be” “That would be crazy, wouldn't it?” She added with a soft chuckle. He turned to look at her and oh his heavens she was an angel. “Are you Clint's…. “Aunt?” she interrupted. “Of course I am, people ask me questions like I am not old enough” she continued. He swallowed a lump in his throat out of the sheer beauty in front of him. Her beauty was almost unreal, the kind that even Da Vinci couldn't capture. Her hair flowed in waves of jet black with streaks of red. Her eyes were a luminous flaming red, striking and mysterious, able to pierce any heart with a single glance. Her skin was radiant and smooth giving out a natural glow. Perfectly moulded lips gave her a noble air and her smile just made it all perfect. She was wearing a red silk gown, pyjamas though that stuck to her supermodel form quite perfectly revealing all the good stuff. “You’re gorgeous” he just let the words run out of his mouth. “What did you just say?” she replied with her eyes in question. “I’m sorry, I just…I just…did I say It….no I didn't say it…oh I said it, I’m sorry miss.” he stammered in a bit of confusion. “Don't worry young man, you aren't even the millionth person telling me” “I hear it all the time” she chuckled softly. Something about her just made everywhere comfortable. “When you by mistake see my aunt, make sure you’re wearing your tightest underwear.” A flashback if Clint's advice popped up in his thoughts. “Patton right?” “Yeah” he replied. “Why did you come here?” She asked again. “Yeah, of course, about that…. I just came to tell you that Clint got into detention at school” he spoke rather hastily. “I thought that was normal for students” she replied with the answer that Patton wasn't expecting though. “No…detention is normal its just the reason that Clint got into it that am concerned about.” he replied bringing out his phone from his bag. He opened to the video and gave her the phone. She looked at the video for the first time and something caught her eye or somethings. The speed at which he was dodging was a bit normal for her average Clint but what really stirred her up was the red flames encasing his hand when he punched the kid. Something only her and other supernaturals could see. She gave him back the phone but the look on her face had changed, no longer calm but fiery full of worry. “So where is he now?” she asked pacing to and fro with worry written all over her face. “Is everything all right?” Patton asked starting to worry himself. “Where is he!!?” She blasted. The dragon mage insignia on her back lighting up. Patton couldn't see any iota of calm in the lady who was chuckling about five minutes ago. She was fiery, worried; too worried for something like this. He thought. “He's was taken to the principal's office” he replied instantly. She took two deep breaths and calmed down. She ran her hands across her hair in anxiety. “Are you okay” he asked in a concerned tone. “Yeah…l’ll go have a bath and change” “Be back in a minute” she replied hastily and ran off to the stairs. Vanessa ran humanly to her room and used her leviathan speed to run through her bath and all. In five minutes, she was already downstairs in a charmeuse bright red bodycon dress which like a showcase displayed her cutting edge features with her hair packed to a pony tail. “Hey Patton, am done” “We can go now” she said. “Should I ask why you're done so fast?” he asked twitching his eyes. “Nope” she replied. They both went outside the front doors. Already with the keys to the white rolls Royce phantom. She signalled for him to enter the back seat. She entered and drove the car out. The gates opened automatically for her without any command like it had a mind of its own. “Something's off about this place and Clint has gotta explain.” With these thoughts in mind he drifted off to sleep, then off to the dream realm. She drove for about twenty minutes and they were already at Dawnforth High. “Ah..Clint's school” “Haven't come here in a long time” she said. She then tapped Patton and they both got down the car.
