CHAPTER 5:
The next morning, Sophia hurriedly dressed up and left for the interview. The interview was scheduled for 10am but she was there already by 8am waiting for the manager to arrive.
Sophia decided to look around the restaurant. Empire Foods looked quite expensive. It was well furnished and had beautiful designs.
Sophia looked at the food menu. She gasped. She knew immediately that this restaurant is only for wealthy individuals.
Empire Foods was one of the biggest restaurants in the city. Most prestigious and first class individuals come there to have meals.
Finally, the manager arrived. The interview went very smoothly and was successful. She was to start work the next day.
Filled with happiness, she picked up her phone and called her best friend, Emma
"Hey girl I got a job" Sophia announced
Ella screamed "OMG girl I am so happy for you. Finally"
"Thank you baby. I don't know what I would have done without your support. I mean emotionally, I was very down"
"It's nothing sweetheart. I am always here for you, and I'm sorry I have not come around to check on you for sometime now. I have just been very busy with work at the office"
"No dear it's totally fine, there's no problem"
"Okay Miss Latest Job Owner I have some things to do right now, take care of yourself alright"
"Okay baby bye talk to you later" Sophia said ending the call.

Adrian was seated in his office going through some documents. His mother Mrs Olivia barged into his office.
"Adrian I am done being being calm with you" she said walking angrily into the office
"What is this about, Mom??" Adrian asked looking confused
"The dinner we had with the Walker family. I am sure I asked you to be there but you stood me up"
"Look I am sorry mom but I was busy with work"
"You were not busy Adrian. I personally asked Benjamin to clear your schedule for that day and he did. So what else were you busy with?"
Adrian knew he was caught up this time.
"Look Mom I already told you that I have no interest in getting married or falling in love with anyone" Adrian said
"Well save that pity story for yourself because I am not hearing that. Your father is very upset with you"
"Come on now Mom. I am tired of doing this same thing everytime with you"
"Anyways I am letting you know that you have a date tomorrow with the daughter of the Walker family and I already asked Benjamin to clear your schedule for tomorrow"
"Mom come on"
"I'm sure you will love her. She's a very beautiful and hardworking young lady. The perfect match for you. And Adrian if you don't go on this date I and your father will cut off any ties we have with you. Am I understood?"
"Yes mom"
"Very good. Benjamin will let you know the time and location. See you later, son" Olivia said as she left the office.
"f**k" Adrian said. He knew he couldn't let his parents cut ties with him. He decided to go on the date as an idea struck his mind
"Fine, she wants me to go on the date. I will do just that" Adrian said with a mischievous smile across his face.
