CHAPTER 35
Derek's POV
“Derek! Derek!” Her shrill voice came down the hallway but I did my best to ignore it and keep walking. I really wasn't in the mood to talk to Emma now.
“Derek! Wait up!” She called impatiently.
I didn't slow down. I kept walking at my regular pace. If she wanted to talk to me she should try to catch up. I'd like to say that we were a perfect family and all but the truth is that we weren't.
For some reason, my stepmom hated me and the fact that she didn't have any male children and I guess she raised her daughter that way too, to treat others like vermin. I didn't like being around them.
“I asked you to wait!” Emma snapped angrily when she finally caught up with me.
