Hades groaned as he lunged into his bedroom and angrily threw his briefcase over the couch as it stumbled and fell down on the cold floor. He tightly gripped onto his tie, and vigorously
untied it throwing it over the bed. His head was pounding painfully. He growled loudly pulling his hairs in frustration. How can he forget her birthday! Her Alif's birthday! He never missed it! But why now?
He felt extremely guilty and frustrated by his ignorant side. He was very busy with his newest project which was very important. But never more important than anything related to the woman he loves. He always visited her grave on her birthday. Today was her twenty fifth birthday. It had become a habit for him to visit her most often. He shared all of his secrets and news to her. She used to listen to all of his problems patiently and never complained about anything, hence she was literally the reason for him to live. And now she’s gone forever, Hades felt like a dead pretending to live. If it wasn’t for Eddie, his brother who saved him, He would have joined her that day itself.
Even though he visited her grave just now, that wouldn’t make up anything how he used to do. Because on this very day, every year, He always started his day only after visiting her. But today he forgot. How come! The vulnerable side of him was again showing up. Frustration, sorrow, regret, guiltiness every emotions filled up his head. He vented his pent-up wrath upon the vases and glassy things in this room. Aggressively smashed them on the floor, breaking each and everything his hands could reach. The screeching sounds of glass breaking echoed through the room. Not getting enough of his anger Hades lurched towards the shelf and threw the neatly arranged books on the floor.
Just then, the door of his room that was ajar, was pushed open forcefully. A shocked Spencer and Daisy barged inside. Their eyes wandered around the messy room, eyes widening at the sight of scattered glass shards all over the ffloor "H-hades, what happened?" A worried Spencer asked as he attempted to walk towards Hades .
"DON'T COME HERE", Hades yelled. Both of them flinched. The next minute his voice broke.
"G-go away", Hades croaked out.
"Hadie, you will hurt yourself. Atleast let me clean this mess.", Spencer pleaded. Hades shoot him a glare with his bloodshot eyes. He was terrified maybe because of seeing him like this for the first time. Daisy didn't utter a word. From her facial expression, it was clear that she was petrified because she didn't even move an inch from where she stood, her eyes widened, her mouth half open as if she forgot to breath for few minutes.
"NO NEED. I'll do it myself. Now please leave me alone." Hades composed himself and sat on the bed clutching tightly onto his hairs as his elbows rested on his knees.
"O-okay" Spencer stammered and then Hades heard both of them leaving the room. He sighed and let his body freely fall on the bed. His head lightly bounced against the cold mattress at the impact of the fall. He tightly closed his eyes letting the tears fall. He glanced at his side and through the blurry vision he saw his and Alif’s photo frame that was placed on the nightstand. And for once again he let his tears wet the cold pillows and mattress.
On the other hand Daisy and Spencer were shocked. Especially Daisy, she never saw him like that, he was very angry that he looked like he could kill them just by glaring at them.
“What happened to him?”, Spencer asked Daisy as soon as they got outside.
“I don’t know. I never saw him like that!” she exclaimed.
Bewildered by his behavior earlier. “Are you afraid?” Spencer asked holding one of her shoulders
“No. I’m not…I think he needs some space. So let’s not invade his privacy.” She said looking at the closed door of Hades room.
They both came downstairs. Later then Spencer left after bidding goodbye. Daisy didn’t felt like eating so she came back directly to her bedroom taking Holly along with her and laid down to sleep.
But sleep never came across her. Her brain was roaming around Hades and his odd behavior. She tried her best to brush it off but that was difficult and after what felt like eternity, sleep crept over her system pulling her into deep slumber.
The morning came rather quickly and Daisy woke up early since Mary was on leave today. She wanted to visit her son. After freshening so Daisy went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for Hades and her. She was preparing ingredients to make pancakes, just then she heard something crashing from upstairs. She instantly dropped the ingredients on the countertop and bolted upstairs. The sound came from Hades room. She gulped a lump of her saliva and knocked the door before entering. She ran towards Hades when she saw him on the floor clutching onto his right leg which was bleeding. The nightstand was found wrecked on the floor along with the things which were placed on top of it. The bedside tamp was partially broken and the glass photo frame was shattered into multiple pieces on the floor.
“Hades?” Daisy called out.
She crouched down to Hades level and carefully observed his wound.
“It’s bleeding. Let me get you to the bed. Try getting up okay?”, she said. Worry was laced in her voice and eyes.
Hades looked behind her and saw the shattered photo frame of him and Alif. Daisy held Hades’s arms in an attempt help him stand up. But he yanked her hands away and while yanking, his elbow hit the leg of the already fallen nightstand beside him.
"Ouch”, Hades whimpered rubbing the elbow with the free his hand. Daisy sighed.
"I told you. Don't be stubborn. Let me help you" this time her voice was strict and Hades obeyed her. She held his right arm and slide across her shoulders and Hades tightly clutched the side of the mattress with his other palm.
"Now try getting up." She said.
Her left hand curled around Hades waist tightly gripping onto his body. He lifted his right leg so that he won't deepen his already bleeding wound and balanced himself on his left leg and tried getting up. His back and butt was aching due to the rapid hard fall. Hades wobbled, but Daisy holf him tightly. Her body was pressed against him.
Daisy made Hades sit on the bed.
"Okay done!" She mumbled to herself that was loud enough for Hades to hear. She then crouched down to examine his wound.
“I had been cold towards her, I cheated on her why is she helping me. She shouldn't have minded me”, Hades asked himself.
"Hades? I asked you something", Daisy was looked at him and he was zoned out so he didn't hear what she said.
"Huh, sorry what?”,
"Where's the first aid box?",
“Oh it's in the nightstand." Hades replied pointing at the crashed piece of furniture laying on the floor.
"That must have become unusable by now. Let me take the one in my room”, Daisy said looking at the nightstand and got up. Hades didn't say anything. He just looked at her leave his room to bring the first aid box.
“I shouldn’t have done all that, what’s wrong with me”, Hades murmured and pulled his hair in guilt and frustration.
