Jocelyn Peri whined pitifully in my head and urged me to just sit down. Go home. Stop working. We needed to rest. I ignored her and wiped my mouth, staring down at the mess I had made in the toilet. My stomach churned again at just the smell and I heaved, but nothing came out. I stood up slowly and wiped the sweat off of my forehead. I flushed the toilet, washed my hands and cupped some water in my hands and swished my mouth a little. I stared at myself in the mirror, still looking green as ever. I had dark circles under my eyes and my skin looked sallow. A soft knock interrupted the stare off I was having with myself and I hurried up, wiped my hands hastily with a paper towel and put on my fakest of fake smiles.
