After three blissful days in Nashville, we went back home to Salem. I had called Melinda every day while we were away, just go check in and see if her mother had finally gone home, now that we weren't distractions.
On the third day, Melinda had called me herself to let me know that Salem was finally safe for us to go home. So after going to lunch, we headed back home. I had to admit, I had hoped for more days to just be carefree and spend quality time with Danny, but I also wanted to get back to my bed.
Truth be told, I loved the familiarity of our life right now. I liked the day to day that made me feel normal. I loved going in to work and feeling tired afterwards and getting home and laying in bed with Danny and then doing it all over again with him.
