[ Olivia ]
I stared at the pricy gift box from a luxury jewellery brand and then at my husband.
“Thank you but you didn’t need to buy me a gift.” I said taking the gift from him and placed it on the table.
“Keep it or Tiffany would blame me that I didn’t bring you a birthday present.” He said and my heart broke.
I felt humiliated. After two years, he remembered to wish me but he crushed my hopes in the next second. He brought it because his sister told him so.
I did everything in last two years to make his life convenient. I planned his birthdays, the death anniversary prayers for his grandparents, family dinners and official parties without complaining and this was what he did in return.
“Thank you, Mr. Hamilton but I don’t need a gift from you. A simple birthday wish would be fine.” I said flatly as my mood turned sore.
He snorted and pinched his nose.
“Why do you make this difficult for us to talk in a civil manner? I know you like expensive things, Olivia. Isn’t it why you married me at the first place?” He spatted coldly and his words cut a fresh wound on my heart.
“I never bought something from your money, Mr. Hamilton if you are here to blame me and the expensive dresses and jewelleries I wear, it is for your reputation. Your mother thinks that I look like a beggar.” I retorted.
We were meeting after weeks and the conversation turned into argument.
“I don’t know why I came here at the first place?” He muttered under his breath. I could sense his frustration.
“You didn’t have to. I’d never complain to anyone because I don’t have any expectations from you, Stephan.” I said looking away from him as my tears threatened to fall again.
The tension could be felt in the air.
“Shall we go home now?” He asked me after a brief moment of silence.
“I am not going anywhere, Stephan. You may go now. Your guest must be waiting for you.” I replied and about to move past him but he caught my wrist.
My heartbeats accelerated, it happens whenever he touches me.
“Why do you hate her so much?” He asked me.
“I don’t hate anyone. Will you excuse me now? I am tired and I need rest.” I said.
He slowly released my hand and I thought he’d leave but his arms wrapped around my waist and he buried his face in the crook of my neck. I could feel his arousal and he was slightly drunk.
“I am not leaving tonight.” He said with finality in his tone and turned me around.
I was shivering under his intense gaze, his eyes were clouded with desire. It was visible that he needed me to satiate his physical needs. We consummated our marriage no soon after the wedding but it was purely physical with no strings attached.
“I need you, Olivia.” He said in a deep husky voice while his finger tips brushed on my bare shoulders.
I bite my lips to refrain myself from moaning. There was no need to deny him.
Because I missed him and his touches.
Slowly, he removed my bathrobe and it pooled down at my feet. His gaze darkened after he scanned my body from tip to toe while it made me shy.
“f**k! Come here.” He cursed and pulled me for a passionate kiss which was rough and dominating.
My fingers knotted in his hairs. He picked me up in his arms and led us to the bedroom. I was putty in his hands like my body got its own mind which obeyed him.
He laid me on my back and came over me, our breathing was heavy. Locking my hands above my head he parted my thighs using his knees. His lips kissed my face, slowly descending down to my neck and kissing all over my chest. He locked my both hands using his right hand and with the left hand, he cupped my p***y.
My breath got hitched into my throat when his fingers rubbed my soaking c**t.
“So wet and ready for me.” He smiled and in the next moment, I felt something hard poking on my entrance and slowly he eased it into my tight folds. My back arched, it was uncomfortable at first, he was giving me time to adjust. It had been a very long time since we last had s*x.
“I won’t be gentle.” He kissed my hairs and then sealed my lips before easing himself completely inside me and I felt someone had slit me into two halves but he comforted me until I felt better and he started moving at slow pace first.
I didn’t regret it a bit for a strange reason.
I pulled him down and kissed him with fervour passion. He grabbed my waist and started moving on a faster pace, the wet friction between our bodies filled the misty air in the room. I could feel the fire ball in my core growing, it was a maddening sensation. I locked my legs around his hips as he rode us high on the waves of pleasure.
“Just let it go with me, Olive.”
He whispered into my ear and his thrusts became deeper and faster before I felt something hot filling me. I felt something bursting inside me and my legs fell limp. His sweaty face buried in the valley of my breasts.
He was breathing hard with his eyes closed but I couldn’t get over the only time he called me by my nickname.
That night, he had me for three more times until we fell asleep in the early hours of the morning.
Next day, I was woken up by a call from the hospital which sent cold shiver running down my spine because my mother’s condition had worsened. I didn’t wait for Stephan to wake up and rushed to the hospital. I only left a note for him to inform him that I was going to the hospital to see my mother.
I felt like someone had poured a bucket of icy cold water after what I heard the doctor saying.
“Doctor, please tell me that it’s not true. My mom will be alright.” I gasped for air. I couldn’t believe, it felt like a living nightmare.
“I am sorry, Olivia but your mother had a heart attack in the morning and we did our best but nothing is left in our hands now. You can say your goodbye to her. She has a very little time left.” The doctor said placing his hand on my shoulder with sympathy.
My body seemed to freeze.
I wasted no time in rushing to my mother’s ward. My heart shattered seeing her. She looked frail, her breathing was shallow.
Tears rolled down from my eyes uncontrollably.
“Hey, Mom. I am here.” I whispered and hoped that she’d hear me because she was unconscious.
I touched her cold hand and kissed it. I never felt this helpless and weak in my entire life. My only family, my support system was my mother and now, she was also leaving me.
“I love you, Mom and I am going to miss you so much. I don’t know how I’d be able to live without you. I will be all alone.” I cried and hoped she could hear me.
She laid there lifeless and I didn’t know how long I stayed there crying silently until my mother left for heavenly abode.
I was there all alone, mourning my loss and completing the hospital formalities after her death. Tiffany came to support me when I texted her but Stephan never came.
I waited for him. I hoped for once he’d show up in the toughest time of my life.
“Olive, I will meet you at the funeral house. Will you be okay?” Tiffany asked me softly.
The hospital administration wanted me to sign some papers before I leave but the body was already sent to the funeral house.
“I will be fine, Tiffany. Thank you for being here with me.” I said with gratitude.
“You’re like my sister, Olivia and we’re family. Of course, I will be there for you.” She said giving me a loose hug.
“Did you hear from him?” I didn’t know why I asked about Stephan but I couldn’t stop myself.
She lowered her head, “I don’t know. He wasn’t picking my calls.” She replied and I felt another stab in my heart.
After she left, I finished the last formalities. It was becoming hard for me to hold myself back. I was all alone. The pain was deepening.
As I was about to leave the hospital I saw Stephan there talking to a doctor but what made my blood boil, was the woman standing close to him.
Vivienne Fisher and my husband were there. He didn’t have time for me but he accompanied her.
It was the last thread of my patience.
I marched towards them and finally their attention diverted on us.
Stephan’s eyes dilated and he looked surprised to find me there.
“Olivia, what are you still doing here? I thought you came here for general checkup for your mother.” He asked me.
The audacity of this man!
I wanted to slap him so hard.
“What are you doing here, Mr. Hamilton? I see you have plenty of time in your busy schedule for your friend.” I taunted him.
“My Dad got sick and he needed an urgent surgery. So, Stephan came here with me. I am all alone in this city and I had no one else to ask for help.” Vivienne answered in a sickening sweet tone.
“Oh, carry on then. I shouldn’t be bothering you.” I said trying my best not to burst in front of everyone.
“Olivia, don’t overreact. We can talk at home.” He hissed under his breath.
“I won’t come home, Stephan. I have to somewhere else.” I said in a cold tone.
“Where are you going?” He narrowed his eyes. There was a frown on his face.
I walked past them, it was hard for me to bear their sight.
“My mother is dead. I will be busy in her funeral.” I told him and without waiting for his response, I was already in my way out of that suffocating place.
