Beaten and broken Hazel lay in a pool of her own blood. The kicks and the insults raining down on her, unrelenting. She closed her eyes unwilling to accept the hand fate had dealt her. She couldn’t die. Not in this way. A prayer pushed past her lips, her words directed to any deity above and below, desperately hoping for any of them to come to her rescue. She needed to be alive, for her daughter. The baby that nestled in her womb. Just as the lasts strings of her hope started to break Hazel saw something. Saw someone. Her protector. Everything was blur, the movements lighting fast before Hazel's baffled eyes. Gut-wrenching screams rented the air but Hazel's heart remained at peace even amid the chaos. Her prayers had been answered. She was safe. At last. Her baby had been saved and those consoling thought followed Hazel into her unconscious state. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Having lived for so long Lenora thought she’d witnessed it all. Nothing surprised her anymore. At least that’s what she’d thought. In the middle of a leisurely stroll, the vampire unexpectedly stumbled upon a gory scene and in the midst of it all is the most breathtaking woman Lenora had ever laid eyes on. The woman’s weak pleas were like a siren’s call. Irresistible. It summoned her monster to the surface. Human beings were artistically cruel but she was far worse. The callous men didn't stand a chance as she effortlessly cut.them to the ground. With the terrible men finally gone the vampire took a long good look at the wounded woman at her feet. In that instant, Lenora quickly understood that walking away was the last thing she’d ever do. Something about this broken woman had her completely enamored. Panicked at the thought of losing the woman and her child Lenora does the unthinkable, eternally binding herself to the beautiful stranger. Her heart anticipates the woman’s recovery whilst her monster craves to claim her and the unborn child as her own. This time, Lenora’s is determined. Nothing was going to stand in her way.
