Chapter 2

"You're late."

Kai just looked at the prince and went on to stand beside Rios, her partner.

The prince looked at the table in front of him. He then pouted his lips. Sulking to gain his bodyguards attention. The prince looked up and gave Kai a puppy look. No one can resist a charming lad. Especially when you're as cute as this prince. That's what his highness was thinking.

Unfortunately, his bodyguards are unaffected and just stared at him.

The prince frowned and clucked his tongue.

"You're no fun. Can't this prince gain a little affection?"

Amusement was dancing in Kai's eyes. Their prince really don't have the presence of a prince. Sometimes she wondered why he accepted this prince's offer.

Shaking her head he asked the prince. "Your highness, aren't you gonna eat?"

The food in the table hasn't been touched yet. From the moment she arrived at his courtyard, her prince only drank tea.

His highness held both of his hands and placed it under his chin while both of his elbows touched the table. He looked at his knights like a child with his candy stolen.

"It doesn't taste good!"

For goodness' sake! This isn't the prince she wanted to serve. Kai would always wonder everyday how she arrived at this prince's side.

"Your highness, you're not going to eat?" Rios spoke. Looks like he got what she was trying to do.

"No."

By the time that word left his mouth, both Kai and Rios grabbed the chair on located both sides of the table and started eating the delicacies served in silver plates. You should never waste the blessings served upon you.

Thankfully, her mask only covers half of her face so, eating isn't that bothersome.

The prince stood from his seat and held the table while looking at us with his mouth agape. Kai doesn't know why he's still this shocked when they do this everyday.

"You never learn do you?" The prince spoke and fell on his chair with his arms crossed in his chest.

"Are you not gonna ask me why I don't want to eat these food?"

Kai looked at him and replied with mouth filled with food. "You're not hungry."

The prince glared at Kai.

" I told you to stop speaking when your mouth is full."

At that moment Kai was picking food from a plate when those words were spoken. She then turn her head to look at the prince then slowly placed the food in her already full mouth.

By the time the delicious food entered her mouth, she then nodded continuously and proceeded to picking food on the table.

The prince heaved a sigh and placed one of his hand on his forehead while the other stayed in his chest. He shakes his head dramatically while his eyes are shut close like something big has just happened.

The prince then shifted his position. He lifted his right leg and placed his ankle in his left knee. He stretched his arms and placed one hand on the table and the other in his face. Left eye in between his index and middle finger, right eye in between his thumb and middle finger. The rest covered his left cheek.

He was about to speak something outrageous when a eunuch came in.

"Your highness."

You can clearly see the disappointment that washed in the prince's face. He has been practicing that for how many days now and it got ruined!

He breathed a deep sigh and stood up to meet the eunuch.

He stopped after a few steps and looked back at his knights, glared at them and stuck his tongue out. He knows they'll make fun of him again.

He clenched his hand and held them up. Swearing that one day he will get his revenge on those two stupid heads.

The people left in the table bumped their fists to each other and continued eating. Their prince really have a twisted way of thinking.

After a moment, the two were now drinking tea, waiting for their beloved master.

"What's taking him?"

Rios can't really stand the silence when he's with Kai. It would always spell awkward.

Kai on the other hand just shrugged her shoulders and continued sipping the refreshing tea. At least even if it's just a moment, she can feel that she's a woman, not a man.

"Kai. Rios."

They quickly stood up and went and bowed towards their master. When he calls them with their name, that means he's in a serious mode.

"Kesseki Village."
