“I picked out the best for you, and you didn't even take a look,” Felix said once Bell was gone.
Kane looked forlornly at the opposite wall. He looked positively grumpy–something new to Felix.
Well, it couldn't be anything alcohol couldn't solve. He poured Kane a glass of his favourite whiskey.
Kane usually went slow and steady with his drinks. Not that night. He downed it in one gulp and held his glass out for another.
Felix poured him another glass. This too was consumed in the same manner. The third was spared and left alone for a while.
