She rushed into an inner room like a terrified rat. Seconds later, she returned with a brown paper bag filled with stacks of cash. She threw the money at Lily. “Take it and get out of my house. Don’t let me see your face ever again!”
Lily’s tears fell down her cheeks as she collected the bag from the floor. It wasn’t the entire amount, but it was enough to report to school. It turned out her mother hadn’t spent it all and had just been unwilling to let her use it for school.
Lydia pointed at Cynthia. “And you. Aren’t you divorced? I even heard you have a daughter with a new man, but you are still running around with the old one. I’m not surprised that man doesn’t want you anymore. No wonder my daughter turned into a w***e, she learned it from you!”
