At that moment, five bodyguards stepped through the gate. They were all huge as trees and looked mean as hell. Cynthia had kept them around just in case. She knew Kane would exhaust all means to look for her, and if he found her, she wanted to be ready.
Cynthia stepped closer to Parker and lowered her voice to a dark whisper. “I’ll have you know that I’ve not hunted for years. Imagine an Alpha female with all that pent-up energy. If you value your men’s lives, I suggest you run back to your boss and tell him to focus on his new little family.”
Parker breathed steadily. He did not dare act rashly towards her, ex-luna or not. His boss’s attitude towards her was mixed at best, and it was in his best interest to tread carefully.
