  At night, Aurelia barged into Kane's room without warning.   Kane was standing on the balcony, a glass of whiskey in his hand. He looked at her in surprise. “What are you doing here?”   “I can't sleep.” She stood in front of him wearing a strappy silk nightdress.   “And?”   She moved closer. “Are you still mad at me?”   Kane walked closer to the balustrade and stared into the night. Silently, he took another sip of his whiskey.   Aurelia swallowed. He had treated her like this twice in one day–ignoring her as if she wasn't right in front of him.   “It wasn't my idea to bribe the judges,” she said. “It was my parents’ idea.
