To Aurelia, the sound of Kane’s voice was like a drop of water in the middle of the desert. She ran up to him, tears automatically dropping down her face. “Kane! Thank god you’re here.”
She threw herself at him, but missed him as he walked in long strides into the room, his eyes trained on Cynthia. Aurelia stumbled and almost fell, but caught herself in time.
“Aren’t you supposed to be resting?” Kane demanded.
After that morning’s events, Cynthia was not in the mood to deal with him. And, she wouldn’t let his appearance derail her. She had to find out what Aurelia was up to.
