Hana crouched with her knees tucked beneath her, struggling to focus on the task at hand. For what felt like hours, she’d been staring at a series of crude astrological charts, drawn out with a piece of talc on the cavern floor. Hidden within Tiberius’s rough sketches was her pathway to the future. At least, Hana hoped it was. If not, her journey would end on Cophus, along with her brief, extraordinary existence. She had seen twenty-eight sun cycles on Astra Glacies. They seemed to have passed in the blink of an eye when faced with the prospect of her own mortality.
