"I'm not ready to say it yet."
I looked at the ground.
"Is it that you don't want me to be the one asking? Would you like a female, maybe? You can talk to my sister. You can talk to her if you are uncomfortable telling me. "
I looked at him.
"Is she a doctor?"
He chuckles.
"No, I'll give you my phone to call her, and I'll be outside for privacy. I'll call her right now to tell her, Is that OK with you?"
I nodded my head and looked around the room. He made the call and explained the situation to his sister, and she agreed to talk to me. Dr. Miller didn't say anything about his family, so I was wondering if he had any other siblings.
" Thank you, sis."
He gave me the phone and said
"When you're finished, just knock or shout, okay? "
I nodded my head and took the phone from him.
"Hello"
"Hello Eva, how are you sweetie?"
I saw Brian getting out of the room and closing the door behind him.
"I'm fine."
"My name is Jane Miller. I'm Brian's older sister. Now, can you tell me what happened to you? You can stop when you need to and you can cry if you want to. I'll be here with you, so don't worry, ok? "
"Umm.. OK."
I told her all. I told her everything. I didn't skip any details or any bad words that were said to me. She listened to me through it all, and now she is trying to calm me down because I'm sobbing. How can you not cry after telling someone, for the first time, that something like that happened?
I heard her telling me to let Brian in, and I tried my best to shout. He, luckily enough, heard me and opened the door with a smile, but it was dropped when he saw me crying.
He took the phone from me and talked to his sister, who understood what was wrong.
"I'll calm her down, so I'll call you back. Thank you. "
After he said that, he threw the phone on the couch and sat in front of me. I was at the point of not breathing right now. He saw how I looked and went to get an oxygen mask. He came back with it and put it on my head. I tried to take it off, but he stopped me.
"Eva, I need you to breathe through this mask. You need some oxygen. On the count of 3, I want you to breath in, OK? "
I nodded my head.
" 1 2 3. Breathe in"
I tried to breath into the oxygen mask, but I got dizzy. I tried again and again and again till I breathed in normally.
"Ok, now I need you to breath out on the count of 3. 1 2 3"
I breathed out. We did this a few times until he saw my face and skin getting better and not as pale as before and that I had calmed down.
"Are you alright now?"
Dr. Miller asked worriedly, sitting beside me now.
"I'm fine."
"Can I hug you? I always feel like you need a hug and I was scared of asking because I thought you would hyperventilate and I didn't want that to happen. "
I hugged his side, my face pressed against his shoulder, and he hugged back, his arms tightly wrapped around my waist. After a minute or so, we stopped hugging and we sat again in our normal position.
"Now what?"
"Now, I call my sister and then see what will happen after that. I'll leave you now to rest or eat something, and I'll talk to my sister outside. Cool? "
I nodded my head. He took his phone from the couch. Then he stood up and walked out of the door, closing it behind him. I decided to rest on the couch till he finished his call. So I laid my body on the couch and slept.
Brian's pov:
After I closed the door of my office, I rang my sister. She picked up after 3 rings.
"Hey J"
"Hey Brian, how is she?"
"She is fine. I left her to rest in the office. "
"Good, she needs a lot of rest."
"Yeah, she does. So what happened to her? "
"Brian, there are some things you need to take care of."
"What do you mean?"
"All I can tell you is that she was abused by her father, both mentally and physically. She didn't eat much or drink much water over the last few days. She's dehydrated and I'm afraid something serious will happen to her. There is also one thing that I need you to do, but you have to be careful.
It's not an easy task. "
"What is it?"
"I need you to get a female OBGYN, someone you trust and who will be gentle and patient with her. She won't like it, and it'll be so uncomfortable. You need to be with her and distract her from the discomfort. Can you do that? "
"Jane, is that what I think it is?"
"Yes, Brian. Please help her. She is so innocent and lovely. I don't want to see her in pain. "
"Neither do I, J. I'll have a talk with her and see what happens. But if things get worse, I need you to come. "
"Brian, I don't know about that."
"J, you'll only comfort her. I'll be with you and nothing will happen. I promise. "
"Fine, only if things get worse."
"Thank you, J."
"No problem, Brian. Tell her I said hi."
"I will, bye J."
"Bye, Brian."
