My savior

Chapter 20

Eva's pov:

"Liam, can you please open the door? I wanna talk with you."

Silent.

"Liam please"

Silent.

5 minutes earlier

He looked at me with tears in his eyes. His eyes told me that he was heartbroken. I was afraid that he might have heard me and Ms Dursilla talking. He turned away from me, entered his room, and shut the door in my face.

Present

"Liam"

Silent.

"Can you please open the door so we can talk about it?"

Silent.

My heart broke when I saw him heartbroken. He didn't deserve this. I sighed and went downstairs to sit on the couch. The girls and Ms. Dursilla were in the kitchen making dinner.

I didn't realize I was crying until I felt someone wipe my tears. I looked to see that it was Ms Dursilla.

"Don't worry Eva, he'll come around dear."

I nodded my head. The girls came and sat down with me on the couch. We all cuddled up and before I know it, I was fast asleep.

I woke up to someone tapping my shoulder. I opened my eyes and saw Liam's crying face shaking me to wake up.

" Li what's wrong?"

"M-mom is I-in the h-hospital"

I felt my heart beat fast and my eyes widen. I sat up from my sleeping position and put my hands on my mouth shocked. Tears started to run down my face. I stood up and took Liam in my arms. He cried and let it all out. I patted his back and tried to calm him down.

After a while, he calmed down and was no longer crying. We pulled out from each other's arms and sat on the couch.

"Li, what happened?"

"I don't know. I was in my room and then I heard a thud. I went to check what fell and saw my mom lying on the ground. Her eyes were shut and her body was pale. I didn't know what to do and called the ambulance. I couldn't go with her and leave the orphanage unsupervised. I want to go see my mom Eva."

He began to tear up again and I hugged him back again. I looked around to find someone, but there was no one. There was no sound. I pulled back from the hug and looked at Liam.

" Li, where is everyone?"

" I don't know, they're supposed to be in thier rooms. Except Anna and Emily, they are in the kitchen."

I hummed.

"How long was I asleep? What time is it now?"

"uh.. I think you slept like 4 or 5 hours, so it's like 8 or 9 pm right now."

I looked at him shocked. He put his hands behind his head and rested on the couch. Suddenly, an idea ran into my head, like a light bulb over my head.

"What about calling Brian and see if he has anything on your mother?"

He looked at me and said.

"That's a great idea, I'll go to the kitchen to sit with the girls till you finish."

I nodded my head and opened my phone to call Brian. Liam stood up and went to the kitchen. The phone was ringing in my ear and I was nervous to talk to him-

"Hello"

My thoughts were cut when he spoke.

"Hello? Eva are you there?"

I cleared my throat.

"Yes. Um.."

"Is there something wrong Eva? I know you don't call unless something is up"

"Actually there is. You see, Ms Dursilla fell on her head and went to the hospital. I don't know what hospital but can you please check if she is in your hospital? I need you to check up on her because Liam is worried and all of us are actually."

"Oh my God! Yes of course. I'll check and call you back. Please don't stay up late."

"Thank you Brian that means a lot."

"You're welcome. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

I hung up the phone and went to sit with my friends at the kitchen. Anna wasn't in the best shape. She was sad and upset about what happened. Bless her, she's still young.

Emily was there calming her down and so was Liam. I feel so bad for him. His mother was in the hospital and he couldn't go visit her.

We sat in silence till my phone rang. I picked it up.

"Hello"

"Hey Eva"

"Oh Brian, any news?"

"Actually, umm.. I'm coming to get you and Liam to the hospital. Ms Dursilla has a sever case and I won't be able to calm Liam down. I called my sister and she's coming to sit with the children till we come back."

"Oh, ok. Thank you Brian."

"You're welcome Eva. Get ready, I'm almost there."

"Alright, bye."

"Bye."

I hung up the phone and they all looked at me.

"So? What happened?"

"Umm.. Liam and I are going to the hospital. Jane is coming to sit with you guys. Brian is on his way."

"Is mom alright?"

"I don't know Li. He said he'll tell us when we meet. It's a sever case."

He looked worried and I hated to see him like this. We sat for a couple of minutes before the bell rang. I went to open the door and saw both Jane and Brian. I hugged Jane for a while and then she went inside. I called for Liam to come and he came. We took off with Brian to the hospital and oh boy the news weren't good at all. It was worse than bad.
