Cori's pulse kicked up a notch as the man wearing blue scrubs stepped through the doorway and toward her. Ben's arm draped around her shoulders, and he pulled her tight to his side.
"Ms. Simon?" the doctor said as he closed the gap.

"I'm Dr. Garrett."
"How is Holden? Is he going to be okay? Can I see him?" she asked. Her voice cracked. From the corner of her eye, she saw Investigator Pearson and Officer Milliman slip into the small waiting room.
