As the bullet passed through Gant's ear and skull the bullet began to expand and explode. The force delivered into Gant's brain pan was destructive of everything with which it came into contact, mostly being Gant's brain matter. Gant simply dropped in the doorway, dead before his head hit the ground. Porfy, having seen the large cloud of blood that escaped Gant's head as the bullet exploded inside it, very slowly left his hiding place and got into his car and drove home. No one else had seen Gant die. No one heard the shot. No one saw the shooter. The door stood open but no one came out. No one was within earshot of the explosive impact with Gant's head.
