Seeking Begins In EarnestThe drive home for Jim, Jaime and Josie was solemn. There was not much conversation at all. Josie finally said “I wonder how many Remington thirty caliber sporting rifles were sold in Arizona in the last year or so? Do you guys think there might be some way we could find out?”
Jim thought for a moment and then he and Jaime almost simultaneously said “What about the federal registration requirements? Is there any way in hell we could get into their data base and get a number?”
Josie almost shouted, “I have a friend in the fibbie's headquarters here in town. I could call him, let him take me to lunch like he's been asking to do for almost a year now and see what he says.”
