Chapter 9

Mia's POV: "Where are you, Mia?" Vivian asked once I answered her call. "I'm on my way now. Where can we meet?" I asked. "I've sent the location to you. Hurry up," Vivian replied before the call ended. Sighing, I picked up my black handbag, making sure my wallet was inside. After that, I left the house, saying goodbye to Mom. I got into her black car, and the driver drove to the shopping plaza location and parked. "I will wait for you here, ma'am," the driver said once I got out of the car. "Alright," I replied with a smile and looked around the mall. There were several people going about their business. The sun shone brightly on me, and then I gave Vivian a call. "Hey, Vivian? Where are you?" I asked, taking a stroll as I stood by the roadside. "At the mall. I've seen you. Come over," Vivian said, waving at me. I spotted her standing with a tall man. I smiled and ended the call, before crossing over to meet her. Vivian wore a green dress and black shoes, and the tall man was brown-skinned, dressed in a yellow shirt and black denim trousers. "Hey, Vivian," I hugged her happily after I crossed the road. "Hi," I waved to the man, and he smiled. "How are you doing?" "I'm cool," I replied, standing next to Vivian, and she grinned. "Mia, this is my older brother, Dr. John Adams. He told me that he likes you, and I should help him talk to you," Vivian said, introducing me to her older brother. "Oh, it's nice to meet you, Dr. John. I'm Mia Anderson, the Chairwoman's daughter," I spoke to John with a smile as I extended my right hand to him for a handshake. "It's nice to meet you, Mia. You're so beautiful, and I can't stop thinking about you after seeing you at the academy," John said as he softly kissed the back of my right hand. My cheeks flushed, and I replied, "It's nice to meet you too. You're not looking bad. Did you actually come to shop, or did you only come to meet me?" I asked, while Vivian laughed. "Come on, Mia, my brother is very serious about you, and I know that you might not know much about our people, but he believes you might be his mate," Vivian said as I took a look around the mall. I felt the intense eyes of someone on me. When I looked back across the road, I froze and caught sight of Liam and Luis standing on the opposite side. My heart skipped a beat seeing them, and I quickly looked away at John. "Can we go somewhere private or go for our shopping?" I asked Vivian, as I became uneasy seeing Liam and Luis across the road. The two of them wore similar black tops, jeans, and black shoes, and I wondered where Leon was. 'Did they follow me?' I pondered, and Molly, replied, "No. They came for their own shopping. Don't forget their father's wedding is upcoming." "Yeah, that's true," I replied to Molly, and Vivian gently tapped my hand. "Mia, you seem lost. Is everything alright?" Vivian looked at me with concern. Seeing her bright yellow eyes, I nodded and forced a tight smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. Actually, your brother is nice, but I don't think I can date him," I replied, and Vivian's gaze dropped. "Why, Mia?" "Don't worry. I'm not rejecting Dr. John. I just mean a lot is going on with me. First, my mother telling me about our kind and that I am a werewolf, which I'm sure you are too, and secondly, she is getting married to Alpha David Oscar. So you see, I'm overwhelmed," I told Vivian the truth so that she wouldn't think too much about me or think that I dislike her brother. "Wow! So Alpha David is getting married to your mother? That means Triple L are going to be your stepbrothers! Wow!" Vivian exclaimed, and I felt a pounding headache. "Yeah," I laughed tightly, and John looked at me with concern. "Is everything alright, Mia? You don't look well," John placed his right hand on my forehead to feel my body temperature, and I stiffened. Before I could react or push his hand away, a deep, magnetic voice spoke from behind my back. "Dr. John, it's nice to see you here." I tensed, knowing that was Luis's voice. He shook hands with Dr. John, and I was stunned they knew each other. Dr. John bowed a little and greeted Luis, "It's nice to meet you, Alpha Luis. I'm just hanging out with my younger sister, Vivian, and her best friend from the academy, Mia." "I see," Luis replied, his eyes shifting to look at me. Vivian tensed and greeted Luis and Liam, "Good afternoon, Alpha." "Yeah. Afternoon," Luis replied, while he turned to face me. "Little sister. Seems like you don't want to greet us today, huh?" I stilled, uncomfortable with the way Luis publicly addressed me as his "little sister." Liam then chimed in, "She wants to discipline her." "No, I'm sorry for not greeting you guys. I got carried away. Good afternoon. Happy now?" I gazed directly at Liam and Luis's faces, turning to face them. Their brows furrowed, and before they could react, Vivian chimed in, "Alpha, please forgive Mia. We were discussing her not knowing she was a werewolf, so that left her lost for a moment. It's not like she didn't want to greet you guys," Vivian quickly stated. Liam peered at Vivian's face, his eyes calculating, but he smiled and said, "I know. Just like how you're introducing your brother to her, right?" Liam licked his lips and smiled at Vivian. Vivian lost her words, before she stammered, "No, Alpha. Mia is my friend. I only want her to meet my only brother." She lowered her head, and I didn't like how Liam was bullying her. "Leave my friend alone, Liam. If you have any issues, you should talk to me directly, but stay away from my best friend." I stood in front of Vivian, blocking Liam from her view, as I peered at his face, unfazed. Liam smirked and replied, "It's fine, Little sis. We'll be getting going, but be careful." He warned me, before he turned to face Luis. "Let's go, brother," he said, while Luis only looked at me coldly and strolled away with his brother. "Oh my goodness, Mia! How could you talk to Triple L like that? They are our future Alphas, and no one dares to disrespect them like you did," Vivian gasped nervously, feeling anxious as we watched Luis and Liam walk away, and I smiled. "Let's go shopping. You don't have to worry about them. They will be my stepbrothers once my mother marries their father. So I can talk to them however I like. Alpha David gave me the privilege," I informed Vivian, whose jaw dropped in shock. "Wow, Mia! That's so great. If it weren't for you getting their father's support, they could have disciplined you. I could already feel the anger pheromones from them. You need to be careful around them," Vivian advised, looking at me seriously. "I know. Let's go shopping. Take care, Dr. John," I waved to him as I dragged Vivian along with me.
