My heart felt a heavy punch at Mia's statement, as I knew that was her target after all.
"Fine. I will await your rejection," I replied, calmly, even as I am an alpha. I hid the pain in my heart, my face calm and not revealing how her words had knocked me and my wolf. Her brows furrowed at me and she breathed out heavily.
