MIA'S POV:
"Where are you, Mia?" Vivian asked as I answered her call.
"I'm on my way now. Where can we meet?" I asked her.
"I've sent the location to you. Hurry up," Vivian said before ending the call.
Sighing, I picked up my black handbag and checked to ensure my wallet was inside. Afterward, I left the house, saying goodbye to Mom. I got into her sleek black car, and the driver, Mr. Andrew, drove us to the shopping plaza and parked.
"I'll wait for you here, Ma'am," he said as I got out of the car.
"Alright," I replied with a friendly smile, then looked around the mall. Several people were going about their business, and the sunlight bathed me as I called Vivian.
"Hey, Vivian, where are you?" I asked, taking a stroll along the roadside.
"At the mall. I've seen you—cross over," Vivian said, waving at me. I spotted her standing beside a tall man, waving her hands in the air.
"Over here, Mia!" she called. I grinned, ended the call, and crossed the road to catch up with her. Vivian was wearing a green dress and black shoes, while the tall man beside her was brown-skinned and dressed impeccably in a radiant yellow shirt, black denim trousers, and shoes.
"Hey, Vivian," I said, hugging her happily after crossing the road.
"Hi," I said, waving to the tall man, who smiled at me. "Hi, how are you doing?"
"I'm cool," I replied, then stood next to Vivian as she smiled.
"Mia, this is my older brother, Dr. John Adams. He told me he likes you and asked me to introduce you," Vivian said, introducing me to her brother.
"Oh, it's nice to meet you, Dr. John. I'm Mia Anderson, the Academy's Chairwoman's daughter," I said with a smile, extending my right hand for a handshake.
"It's nice to meet you, Mia. You're so beautiful, and I can't stop thinking about you since Vivian introduced us," Dr. John replied, holding my right hand gently as he placed a soft kiss on the back of it.
My cheeks flushed, and I heard a loud growl behind me, which startled me. Before I could reply, I teased, "It's nice to meet you too, Dr. John. You're not looking bad yourself. So, did you come here to shop, or just to meet me today?" Vivian laughed along with him.
"Come on, Mia, my brother is serious about you. I know you might not know much about our people, but he believes you could be his mate," Vivian said as I glanced around the mall in front of us.
Just then, I felt intense eyes on my back again. When I looked across the road, I saw Liam and Luis standing on the opposite side, peering at me angrily. My heart skipped several beats, pounding loudly in my chest as I noticed they were dressed in black leather trousers and jackets, discussing something among themselves.
I quickly turned my attention back to Dr. John. "Can we go somewhere private or start our shopping?" I asked Vivian, feeling uneasy about Liam and Luis standing across the road.
The two of them were wearing similar black tops, leather trousers, and boots, and I wondered where Leon was. Did they follow me this morning? I pondered. My wolf, Molly, replied, "No, Mia. They came for their own shopping. Don't forget their father's wedding is next Saturday."
"Hmm, that's true," I sighed. Vivian gently tapped my shoulder, startling me out of my thoughts.
"Mia, you seem lost. Is everything alright?" Vivian asked, her big yellow eyes filled with concern. I nodded and forced a tight smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. Actually, your brother is nice, but I don't think I can date him right now."
"Why, Mia?" Vivian's gaze dropped, but I quickly assured her, "Don't worry. I'm not rejecting Dr. John. It's just that a lot is going on with me. First, my mother told me about our kind and that I'm a werewolf—which I'm sure you are too. Second, my mother is getting married to Alpha David Oscar this upcoming Saturday. So, as you can see, I'm overwhelmed by all the news."
"Wow! So Alpha David Oscar is going to marry your mother? That means Triple L are going to be your stepbrothers!" Vivian exclaimed, her eyes widening in shock. I felt a pounding headache at the thought of it.
Was I going to accept living with the triplets? A chill ran down my spine, and my heart fluttered in my chest.
"Yeah," I laughed tightly, and Dr. John looked at me with concern, noticing my perspiration.
"Is everything alright, Mia? You don't look well," Dr. John said, placing his right hand on my forehead to check my temperature. I stiffened at his sudden touch.
Before I could respond or pull his hand away, a deep, magnetic voice spoke from behind me. "Dr. John, it's nice to see you here."
I tensed, recognizing Luis's voice. He extended his hand for a handshake with John, and I was stunned that they knew each other.
Dr. John bowed slightly and greeted Luis. "It's nice to meet you, Alpha Luis. I'm just hanging out with my younger sister, Vivian, and her friend from the Academy."
"I see," Luis said, his eyes shifting to me.
Vivian tensed and greeted them. "Good afternoon, Alpha."
"Afternoon," Luis replied, then turned to face me. "Little sister. It seems like you don't want to greet us, huh?"
I froze, uncomfortable with Luis addressing me as his "little sister" in public.
Liam chimed in, "She wants us to discipline her."
"No, I'm sorry for not greeting you guys. I got carried away. Good afternoon—happy now?" I asked, turning to face them directly. Their brows furrowed, and before they could react, Vivian quickly added, "Alpha, please forgive Mia. We were discussing her not knowing she was a werewolf, so that left her a bit distracted. It's not that she didn't want to greet you."
Liam peered at Vivian's face, his eyes calculating, but he smiled and said, "I know. Just like how you're introducing your brother to her, right?"
Liam licked his lips and smiled at Vivian.
Vivian stammered, losing her words, "No, Alpha Liam. Mia is my friend. I only wanted her to meet my brother."
Vivian lowered her head, and I didn't like how Liam was bullying her.
"Leave my friend alone, Liam. If you have any issues, talk to me directly, but stay away from my best friend," I said, standing in front of Vivian to block his view as I stared at his face unflinchingly.
Liam smirked and replied, "It's fine. We'll be going, but be careful, little sis." He warned me before turning to Luis.
"Let's go, brother," he said, while Luis looked at me coldly and walked away with him.
"Oh my goodness, Mia! How could you talk to Triple L like that? They are our future Alphas, and no one dares to disrespect them," Vivian gasped, her voice tinged with nervousness as we watched Luis and Liam walk away. I smiled.
"Let's go shopping. You don't have to worry about them. They'll be my stepbrothers once my mother marries their father, so I can talk to them however I like. Alpha David gave me that privilege," I informed Vivian, whose jaw dropped in shock.
"Wow, Mia! That's so great. If it weren't for you having their father's support, they could have disciplined you. I could already feel their anger. You need to be careful around those men," Vivian advised, looking at me seriously.
"I know. Let's go shopping. Take care, Dr. John," I said, waving at him as I dragged Vivian along with me.
