I couldn't believe that I arrived at the Academy late. My brother, who was supposed to bring me to the Academy, had forced me to stay back at home because he had to run an urgent errand for Leon.
This made me miss the assembly because I knew there would be an announcement. My mother had already told me the previous night that she was going to become the new Chairwoman at White Hills Academy, but I was enraged.
I was supposed to be happy, believing that I would be the center of attention today. I had prepared early for it. Only for my brother to ruin my joy and ask me to wait—not just that, but Mom and Dad had already left for the Academy.
