“Grace.” He breathed, sinking unto one knee in the snow and peering into her face, even though everything in him pushed him to heave and run screaming away in horror. Her face was a horrid mess, with her nose broken, and blood freezing on her bloody face. Her body was not spared either, as one of her arms and both legs were at crooked angles and Jake knew immediately that they were all broken, and not in one place either. Jake instinctively removed his sweater and made to drape it over her, thinking that she was not conscious when she spoke.
