Coliar Academy

“Hey Evanesce. When will you stop living through your routine days?” Sapphire Bliss flippantly nudges me after we walked off from the Forelove Hall where we had a meeting regarding the prom. She is an Azure and her name apparently personifies her joyful ambiance. Her short azure hair illuminates her glowing beauty, together with her stunning cerulean eyes. Sapphire is one of my closest friends. We started our acquaintance since we were small. We both got same characters being persistent and having an opposition to the Puissant Constitution. We were frequently imagining things that might happen if the Puissant Society didn’t exist and if we were just normal human beings subsisting on the earth. Then we always laughed after that. Anyway, there’s nothing wrong to dream about the Impossible.         “What sort of usual routine are you exactly denoting? Perhaps, it’s hopeless even though you are making changes since, you know, we’ll just be drawn against a new reality. I mean that, we’ll be working for the rest of our lives after our Transference from this super secured school, or likewise our primary home.” I bring to a halt, irksomely facing at her idyllic looks.         “I’m actually signifying the incident a while ago.” She inserts, and then her merry visual aspect turns to be down in the mouth.         “Oh well, that moment when I’ve almost hit that bothersome Golden jerk?” I frivolously exclaim. “Don’t you see? She’s a rude, bad-mannered, disgusting and a rotten jackass!”         She becomes at a loss for words upon my remarks to her.         “I’m sorry Sap but I have to go now.” Without a second thought, I stroll away from the placement where we had a short talk. I’m so repentant regarding my actions but I don’t want to fire up being nasty to anyone again. Besides, I am quite fortunate that I’d managed myself with the Golden girl in the hall. If I didn’t knock off the appearance of Evanesce Malice again, I might end up being thrown immediately into my Kingdom. It was a bit of luck but still a careless response.         Puissant students are coming along the large hallway, during which eagerness is pushing me to walk forward hastily. Such beings are flying in midair, in the company of their own stuffs. They’re certainly the Snows. Some look as if they have urgent matters in the same way as I set off from this building. When I brusquely fix my eyes on the left corner just above my head, I see a group of Snow students assembling without a fixed expression. I wonder what’s that issue all about.         Suddenly, two Crimson girls who are sauntering at my rear keep on exclaiming, “Trance! Trance!” They stick around and peek at him above.         I swiftly glance upward. Trance Beguile was my friend and crush for five years. He was a very attractive guy, always binding my heart with his presence. His snow hair, dark grayish eyes, flawless face and snowy skin make him extraordinarily handsome.         He glimpses and beckons at me while the other Snows are still talking to him. A surprising feeling flows through my entire body, extremely nervous to respond with his gesture. I wonder how he reacted after he caught sight of me, yelling at the Golden girl in front of the crowd. That’s really embarrassing.         I smile back and resume the walk under my own steam. Nevertheless, a feeling of thoughtful sadness often comes to see me. I don’t exactly know where I stand with him, as well as grasping my proper settlement in his heart. But I should stop this because it’s forbidden.         Hitherto, the other Puissant students are going around the hall. The Goldens are not walking and instead, they travel in their portable automotive vehicles, which are invented and designed by their own innovative minds. The Jades, Azures, and Crimsons are simply going from place to place in a normal and typical manner. Some Amethysts are vanishing out of the blue, signifying one of their abilities of transporting by dematerializing at one point and assembling at another. Unluckily, I’m not given a power of teleporting and it’s unjust.         “It looks like you’re experiencing a feeling from discontentment to deep grief, right Evanesce?” All of a sudden, a soft voice of a lassie abruptly emerges.         “Hey Glory, you’re here again. But yeah, perchance it’s getting more penitent knowing that this is my last day.” I say, still strolling like with no apparent aim.         I come to a brusque halt. My best friend always alleviates me each time I’m in a state of difficulties. She is Glory Secrete, a visible disembodied soul of a dead Amethyst. She was the most reliable ghost I had ever met, to whom I’d divulged all my secrets and even my emotional sensitivities. She’s a lifeless girl with an age like mine, having a purple hair.         “Do you want to extend your stay here? For another month?” She looks directly at my eyes. “It looks like a joke but I’m just suggesting and… Oh, never mind that. I am merely thinking how much I’ll miss you.”         My attentiveness suddenly stops, sending hundreds of thoughts inside my head, disrupting the nerve impulses within my system. Did I hear the right words? Extending my stay for another month? I anxiously close my fists, looking sideways in a slow movement, and swiftly turn my sight towards her. “How can I do that?”         “Are you serious? I’d never wanted to risk your life. I was just kidding and --”         “Tell me Glory! How can I delay my Transference? Tell me please!”         “But…” She fearfully says in a low and indistinct tone, while glaring towards the main lobby where the threshold between Puissants is lingering patiently. I exhort her by staring at her face, in which hopefulness is filling up my heart. Then she finally speaks. “The only way to extend your stay here is to go outside.”         I question her without further ado. “Outside? What do you mean?”         She resumes walking so I indubitably move on next to her. “If a Puissant wants to delay his Transference for another month, he should stay for ONE day in the human world before the end of his birthday. Then he should return to his Academy immediately after 24 hours or else the Constitution will find and kill him. This is the most forbidden and dangerous act in which many Puissants had failed and died due to this attempt.”         I remain silent for a minute. I am hesitant to believe everything she said, discerning the possibility of bidding to go outside. With the beams of light traveling through the large main door, I gaze beyond it and think of the aforementioned word that is blocking the electromagnetic radiation within my vigorous sensation. “Human.”         “Are you fine Evanesce? Did I mention something wrong?” She suddenly interrupts.         My whole alertness hasn’t come back yet so all I’ve been doing is overlooking her queries. “Human.”         “Hey! What the hell is in your mind? Stop having deep thoughts!”         “In my life, there’s only one thing I haven’t done yet.”         “What? Don’t tell me --”         “That is, to enter the human’s world.” It feels like I’m entirely out of my mind. However, a great chance is enveloping my aspiration for many years. I may perhaps postpone my Transference by going outside but this is not only my motive. For a lifelong hope, I genuinely want to see human beings and visit their homes even for a short moment. I want to know the divergences of the places between our worlds and the amazing abilities of humans. But could I succeed doing that?         Glory cuts off my thoughts. “That was totally a big joke Evanesce. You can’t go outside. I’m sorry to say but there’s no time left. I thought you will just laugh if I bring it up so I flippantly reveal it myself. ”         “But… I want to go to their world. I will escape this place. And I can do it!” I utter.         “But how? I don’t want you to die within their hands. Think of it.” She says.         She’s right. I’m too powerless to break the border between our lands. I definitely sound nonsensical upon voicing out those words without having a single smart plan. Running away from this place is a very arduous undertaking particularly for a feeble Amethyst like me. I can only come into someone’s dream but I can’t manipulate this entire society. This is really imprudent. How can I flee all by myself? Surely, the Constitution will find out my escape and instantly send me to death.         As we walk out from this building, an odd phenomenon takes the wind out of my sails. The ambience of the entire Academy appears to be busy and on the go. All the Puissants have hectic activities. Pink and rosy stuffs modify the surroundings, including heart designs and lovely flowers. I swiftly conjecture what’s possibly the occasion for this month.         Eventually, I’ve almost unable to summon up that today is February 12 and it’s approximately on the verge of Hearts Day.         I hate Hearts Day. Not because I don’t have a boyfriend but because it’s forbidden here to have a relationship from a different clique. That’s right. I wanted to date an Aeroman but the Law is obstructing my wish. Trance Beguile is a Snow and also my close friend. Last year, we would allegedly have a secret date but our expectations simply came to nothing. Our relationship was reported to the council. However, they didn’t have enough evidences regarding our secret connection so they decided to discard that incident. Until now, we still couldn’t get a chance to talk for a long time and I feel so blameworthy because I will disappear without explaining everything to him. What’s more, I hate this law! Why are they barricading the relationship between different cliques if all of us will just work together during the Assignment? If they intended it from the start, they should’ve separated the cliques into different Academies. Why did they unite the Six Cliques into one if we will just undergo Same Clique Marriage? Is this Constitution playing with us?   PUISSANT GUIDE: VII.    Coliar Academy – it is the largest specialized school for all Puissant beings. It is diametrically sited on Verset Land. The extensive plateau over it which is approximately 1,000 feet high is apportioned into two Sections; left part for the Amethyst while the right part for the Goldens. Whereas the scenic valley below epitomizes the Jade and Crimson Sections, and the crystal-clear sea in close proximity is for the Azure Section. The Snow Section lies skyward above the bounded land. Coliar Academy is protected by a secured robust glass wall which guards the Puissants from escaping. This wall also shields and hides the view of the entire Academy from earthlings or human beings.           At this moment, I presently head off from the Golden Section where the meeting had taken place. Glory suddenly disappears out of the blue. I don’t know if she feels remorseful caused by our silly conversation but I hope she doesn’t intend something.         The buildings of the Goldens are on the state-of-the-art, with ultramodern structures and astounding inventions that are conceivably alike with the human novelties. All their constructions are made of glass, even their own paraphernalia and auxiliary stuffs. This clique is the largest group of Puissants, where the smartest and most brilliant beings are to be found. They’re mostly the initiators of the main division of Coliar Academy. The entire area’s resilient glass-wall is primarily created by them, in which Puissants are being obstructed to run away. In point of fact, this is like a prison, and not just a prison but a powerful one.         All of them are still full of activities on the preparation for the annual Hearts Day. They are currently designing the center section of the plateau which is the Coreluck. This place is a prominent zone wherein most of the students enjoy themselves during particular occasions. It pretty much covers an area of five football fields and it is surrounded by the two main subdivisions.         I am strolling for about five minutes, halfway to our building. The Amethyst Section is a long way away; in fact, it is located on the opposite part of the Golden Section or otherwise at the end of the Coreluck. Hence, I will not keep on by shank’s pony anymore in having an exertion on the road to our quarters. I need to look for certain transit in lieu of walking.         Yet again, the Snows are still taking to the air as their way of transporting. The movements of the Jades, Azures, and Crimsons are either uphill or downhill, by means of their own strategies which are constructed creatively.         “Hey!” Someone calls out lagging behind.         I direct my eyes at the rear of me, discerning the familiar voice.         “Clever? What are you doing here?” I surprisingly ask him. He is Clever Adroit, my weird but good Golden friend who shares many ideas about the human world. He’s quite smarter than me since he’s a Wisdom Guardian. His tall structure slightly more or less 6 feet is degrading my height which is five inches below his stature. I can say he is somewhat good-looking with golden hair but his genius character makes him weirder.         At that juncture, a splendid burnished black car abruptly catches my attention. He’s been driving his new automobile and a felicitous mood is presently environing him.         “Want a ride?” He asks me over while fixing up his silver eyeglasses.         “Oh, thank you bro. I thought you already forgot me.” I say.         “That will never happen. Come on!” He beckons to me, hinting at the taking-off signal.         I hurriedly move and ride on his beautiful car. The engine starts to run, and then a shaky trip switches on my exasperated day. Inquisitiveness is revolving around my head. Clever doesn’t also know about my Transference and I’m afraid I might lose a friend if he founds out my dishonesty. He is likely my brother and I’ve never meant to deceive him about my birthday. I want to apologize and cry but I couldn’t. All I need to do is just tease and punch him as the usual thing I’m doing whenever we are with each other.         While he’s driving, he clutches something from his pocket, which seems to be a thin four-sided black figure. It suddenly emits a bright light and he subsequently touches the flat surface by moving a finger over it.         “Is that a phone? Like the human’s stuff? That’s awesome!” I remark to my amazement.         “Absolutely.” He moves his finger once more then a distinctive sound emerges, portraying a manly voice. The melody and rhythm blends with the tone and I’m relieved upon hearing that unusual song. “And this is a human voice.”         “What? A human? Seriously?”         “Yes… Oh, I see. It’s the first time I’ve shown you like this. I talked much about it before but you’ve never seen or heard any of it. It’s fairly lucky for you now.”         Honestly? But why is he showing it at this point? What does he mean that it’s fairly lucky for me? I agitatedly sense something strange right now and I want to figure it out. But I should be calm. If I’ll be more curious, he might notice my uneasiness. I should act in a natural way and stop hypothesizing.         “That’s really amazing. Can I see the other songs?” I evenly speak.         Straight off, Clever blinks at me. “I’ll let it once you have your own phone.”         “But how? I’m an Amethyst.” A dreary dissatisfaction eats my modality. Sophoman have several abilities in the vein of humans but we, the Phanoman, are terribly unusual.         “I believe you can.” He gazes at me with his amber eyes like two peas in a pod. “No, I’m just joking. And by the way, the funnier thing is I got 444-555-1010, such a very easy number.”         “444-555-1010? A number?”         “Yeah.” He only nods and looks after the road ahead.         I can’t decrypt what he’s thinking but I’m certain that he knows something. Besides, he already recognizes that I’m now becoming interested in the human world again. Even if it’s obvious that I don’t know the number thingy he’s mentioning, I still have to be careful regarding my acts. And although he’s one of the persons I’m relying, nonetheless I couldn’t give my entire trust to anyone.         While remaining silent during our decelerating ride, I peep outside through the glass window. Perchance, we’re moving towards the Amethyst Section where my quarter is transitorily sited. Given that the Golden buildings are made up of glassy and incredible structures, I can’t exactly distinguish our constructions from them. Our outer Section is enveloped entirely by purple smoke formations. You cannot see our quarters from outside. Since we have the most peculiar buildings in our society, it’s difficult to explicate each single preference of the Amethysts. Some are just typical structures but some have the weirdest houses in the academy. I can’t imagine that one Amethyst who lives inside a clock. He might be tired of listening to the tick-tocks every second. And then another one who stays behind the mirror, having her room in a virtual world as a virtual image. Likewise, the rest are strikingly odd.         I just thought of my small screened-house, with projected images surrounding every corner. I always love the idea of changing its scene into different illusions like I’m in a paradise or fantasy world. Every beautiful vision I created is like a dream. I will totally miss it. Those images that accompany me during happiness and heartaches, I’ll miss it. That purple symbol at my ceiling which I hate the most, I’ll miss it. Everything I’d gone through will just be a dream.         Going back to my condition, today is my eighteenth birthday and I will transfer to Amethyst Dimension exactly this midnight. My real nightmare is starting. Henceforth, the greatest fear of my life throws me down the gauntlet. This moment is my last. I’m afraid to depart erratically, without even having a chance to visit the human world just for a short time.         The slow ride is round about three minutes and this sudden tension is becoming enormous. It’s most likely 5 in the afternoon, according to Clever’s clock that is visibly set inside his car.         “Where are we going?” I ask while he turns his car on the spur of the moment. The Amethyst Section that is previously ahead of us is been tiptoed around, leaving it behind. We’re now on a different direction away from my quarters.         He just grimaces and doesn’t answer back.          It’s getting eerier. I don’t know what he intends to, otherwise the gist for this current occurrence. It feels like I’m too zealous, mulling over the imminent possibilities.          The car suddenly stops in an ill-natured and snappish manner, almost slamming me into the front glass window.         “Hey! That’s reckless!” I exclaim.         “You need to run through it before going out of the walls.” He retorts, unfastening his seatbelt and walks off.         “What do you mean ‘going out of the walls’?” I swiftly query although I’m still taking my pew on the passenger’s seat. “Hey? Come on, answer me you jackass!”         Going out of the walls? What is he meaning to say? Does he know about my Transference? I want to run away or teleport to another safe place but I’m powerless to do that. Where am I? Is my true identity have been already revealed? What should I do now?
