Dangerous Attempt

Undoing my safety belt, I quickly go out without even putting up the shutters of the car. I’m not sure what I’m doing but I need to face and probe Clever Adroit. It may perhaps the right time to reveal everything and I will not step back and refuse anymore. I will never.             Nonetheless, Clever is not alone. a company of diverse Puissants suddenly catches my attention. They’re in a small area near the edge of the plateau, where the Jade Section below rolls greenly on the valley. There are four of them plus Clever and me, so we’re six altogether.              “Omigosh.” I murmur to myself while poring over them shockingly. Why are they here? What is the motive why all of them are gathering? Is this a trick or an act of deceiving?               Their expressions are all inexplicable at the outset but alterations amend their faces after we arrived at this place.               There’s a Jade, an Azure, a Crimson, plus a Snow, and all of them seem to be familiar. My Azure friend Sapphire Bliss is there as well as Trance Beguile. I start to have cold feet, seeing him without prior notice. Why are you here Trance? Do you also know something? For how long? I really miss you and I badly want to talk with you.               On other hand, a Jade girl beams at me benevolently. She’s Pixie Solemn, one of the closest friends of Sapphire, and in fact we’re not intimate with each other in its entirety. She has a very long jade hair lying just below her hips. Then followed by a Crimson, who is Sheen Cliff, steadily stands behind them like he’s unconscious about our arrival. Heck, what is really happening?               “Okay. We are now complete.” Sapphire gives the third degree to us while starting to move toward Clever’s car. “Come on, let’s go.” She glances at me.               I can’t actually figure out this mess taking place. What is she meaning to say? I startlingly bring to a halt, in close proximity to be frozen. “What is this all about? Are you pulling the wool over my eyes?”               Everyone turns their back on my irascible interrogation, like I’m such an invisible being. I’m here at this moment, standing in pole position and waiting for anyone to react. I glare at Trance to find certain answers but his eyes signify something irresistible.               “As what I’ve told you before, we’re going outside.” Clever approaches me, and consequently puts his arm on my bare shoulder, touching my fake birthmark name. “To the human world.”               “What?” I nervously step backward. “What do you mean human world? How did you know that--”               No, it can’t be. Why do they want me to go outside? My eyes are rapidly blinking, the air is increasingly expelling into and out of my lungs, sweat glands of my skin are secreting gradually more, and my immune function seems to decline all at once. They know about my Transference! They probably send me here to…               “Happy Birthday Evanesce.” All off them subsequently draws near.               “But…” I ask, looking towards their expression, finding answers, and examining every overlooked detail. They knew about my real birthday, they knew about my lie, and they knew about the way of delaying my Transference. They want me to stay here for another month. But why?               Sapphire adds. “We’ll explain to you later. Right now, we should start moving.”               “She’s right. We firstly need to go downhill before anyone finds out this meeting.” Pixie abruptly rejoins, smoothing her long jade hair with her fingers.               Everybody looks at me intently and remains inactive on their placements while expecting a response from my mouth.               “We must talk in a safe place since we’re in danger here. The Jade Section is mayhap the securest area for our discussion, as what Pixie had prearranged.” The crimson-haired guy Sheen Cliff states in one fell swoop. It’s probably his first time speaking at the halfway of the company; otherwise he just holds back his tongue as soon as we showed up here.               Without a second thought, everyone falls in with their requests. They quickly back down from their positions and make steps toward Clever’s car.               “Oh-okay...” I mumble in an acquiescent manner.               Suddenly, I notice Trance glancing at my bashful face. I’m having a dubious speculation on how he turned out to be part of this plan after all the humiliating things I’d done. My feelings become more perplexing every time I meet him.               Then I remember the last time when we spent our moments together, just after the Council had discovered our intended date during the previous Hearts Day. We secretly met at Snow Section since we were obliged to stop contacting each other for our clean records under the Constitution. During that instance, he sent me to the sky where the fluffiest clouds were hovering all over the vast firmament above the ground. I was like in heaven and I couldn’t believe that I soared with him. We witnessed the exquisite land of humans outside but even though the city was very small to clearly see, I reveled in watching them throughout. The blue sea within spitting distance was immense and its picturesque view unmistakably dumbfounded me.               We parked ourselves on a beautiful dense cloud, which was likely to be out of the ordinary when compared to the real clouds suspending at a considerable altitude.               “I will miss you after this. I’ll miss our long conversations, our crazy power experimentations, and your beautiful smile.” Trance told me while he was gazing far afield.               “I hope this is not our last talk. I hope we can secretly meet again like this.” I assumed, tears falling down my cheeks. “But it’ll just turn out nothing. We will be expelled if we continue. This is totally unfair.”               Then he suddenly embraced me, replenishing my heart with unexplained delight.               “Evanesce, you’re very special to me. I’ll never forget you.” He whispered.               I was still hugging him. I couldn’t stop crying and a flaming crossbow was incessantly stabbing my aching heart. He was the first guy I’d ever love and I wanted him so much. “I’ll miss you too, Trance.”               We were separated away from each other after that moment. I wish I could love freely like with those humans because here in our own world, we are forbidden to marry a Puissant with a different race, under the Law of Same Clique Marriage. Therefore, I was born a Phanoman so I should walk down the aisle with a Phanoman too. And this is definitely a wrong regulation.   PUISSANT GUIDE: VIII. Same Clique Marriage – a law that bans every Puissant to love another Clique member. It is also prohibited to engage in a relationship while studying in the Academy or before her Transference. Her own Kingdom decides who will she marry and not exactly her. If she tries to run away, she will certainly die. Since the purpose of the Constitution is for worldly and not for personal matters, a Puissant should be convicted if she’s a defiant of the Law. IX. There should be a “Perfect Puissant” after the Procreation where a couple from same clique will produce only one offspring. Then after that, the Perfect Puissant will be sent to an Academy allocated to her. She will never see her parents and will never tell her about it. And when a Puissant had already graduated and undergone Transference, the Assignment will happen where she’ll have a chance to meet her parents, and she will also start fulfilling her purposes.                 Trance moves his sight away from me and sets off. If I go outside, are they going with me? Could they possibly also extend their Transference if their birthdays are far ahead? Besides, they already know my birthday and they seemingly aren’t angry about my lie. There’s definitely a reason. It’s either to let me stay here longer or to let me suffer death in the human world. I know there’s always a consequence but this is a big chance. Since I was young, something is urging me to escape here and go out straight away. I am too curious, like there’s a specific entity waiting for me behind this wall.               All of them already got into the car except for my feet that tend to remain absolutely still while my mind is weighing up grimly. Though my sight is heading for the world beyond, I can see from the four corners of the earth that changes are going to take place.               I look far and wide, getting pleasure from the limitless spectacle. The mountains outside are like superb paintings and the tiny city seems to be a cute miniature. The boundless clouds freely alter its diverse forms, incarnating the factual lives of human beings. Taking the whole shebang into account, I can say that everything is beautiful elsewhere.               “Hey Evanesce! What are you doing there? Get your skates on and hurry up!” Clever Adroit yells inside.               “Yeah, coming.” I take off my vision from the distance and hastily move along them.               At a fast pace, I come into the car then shut it out. I sit down at the second row just beside Sapphire Bliss. Clever is unquestionably the one who drives, whereas Trance is taking a pew next to him. However, Pixie and Sheen position at the back of us.               The auto immediately gets on the way to the Jade Section, which denotes that we will come clattering down the trail of this hilly terrain.               In actual fact, there are different transits starting from this plateau on the road to the other Sections below. The common used way of transportation is the Jade’s Elevator or also known as the Gwindlass. These are lifting plants that carry Puissants upward or downward, and it’s the fastest route heading towards the central building of the Phytoman. The Azures also have their own system which is the Seadrop. It holds large masses of waters with various shapes, wherein the passengers decide the figures or designs of the water they want. Moreover, the Wingstone is being utilized by the Crimsons. These are flying rocks that hover on all sides of the plateau.               Self-propelling vehicles are used by the Goldens and we’re now in his car, traveling through a steep zigzag road. Everyone appears to be stimulated, although they haven’t told me their plans yet.               “So now, can you tell me the meaning of this?” I beseech.               “You shall ask that Azure girl about everything.” Clever interrupts while driving assiduously.               “Sapphire? For what?” I swiftly rubberneck at her. “Is this because I yelled in front of you after the meeting? I’m sorry and I didn’t actually mean it.”               Her expression suddenly grows into a confusing face. “No, that’s not my motive and I already overlooked that incident.”               “And about my birthday, I’m sorry if I lied to all of you. By the way, how did you know that today is my real birthday?” I bashfully stare at Sapphire beside me.               She replies, “Your trainer Ms. Abet Horizon told me about it. She wanted me to help you in delaying your Transference. I was hesitant at first since I had doubts in myself but I thought of it for a long time. She hadn’t mentioned the reason why you should go outside and she only said I should extend your stay here then return you after a day.”               “But how did you agree?” I ask.               “After reflecting thoroughly, I came to an agreement with her. We will help you in delaying your Transference if you join our rebellion and war against Puissant Society.”               “War?? On Puissant Society?? Are you guys crazy? We’re too powerless to win against our race!”               “That’s why we need you. We need your power Evanesce. I thought you hate our Constitution from the beginning, and you want to have your freedom! You want to live in the human world, right? You also want to liberally choose and love? Then you should unite with us. We’ll have more chances to win if your ability joins our powerful forces. Thus, we will not let you disappear right away and allow your Kingdom to steal your entire life. You should stay here, understand?”               This is totally driving me nuts. I have hundreds of questions but I don’t want to make inquiries to them. It’ll be useless and the time is impelling my long thoughts. I should just agree then create plans afterwards.             “I know it sounds crazy but this is my last choice. I’ll be going with you.” I say, and then everyone turns their attentions on me. “But what if we fail? I mean that, what if you’ll be at risk because of me?”             Sapphire responds, looking at her birthmark name on top of her left palm. “This is really a very dangerous plan and it will bring us to a perilous case if we get a single mistake. That’s why we’re here to plan systematically, with the presence of our rational skills and powers. It’s the only chance for us to save you, Evanesce…” She rapidly bats her eyelids then gawks at the forefront towards the road.               I draw back my lips, revealing a small grin that represents my anticipation. The long craving for this prospect will come true; hence a great adventure will challenge me right the way for my senseless Transference. I will be meeting with the humans and it’ll be the best chance for me to discern the divergences between our worlds. Therefore, I need to control myself for being cruel because if my actions come to be unmanageable, I can harm any human beings.               The ride transpires for a short time since Clever’s car is like a high-speed machine. I roughly feel a whirling sensation in my head due to this wild jaunt towards the bottom of the plateau.               We pull over the Jade Section, where the scenic and bizarre plants are to be found, as well as the massive forest that stretches out from this placement up to the edge of the robust glass-wall. This location is definitely the nearest site just before the closest opportunity for an escapade.               “Okay guys, we’re here.” Clever states as he moves out of the car.               Each and every one successively walks off, setting sights on the entire place. The main Jade Building is far enough so we’re possibly out of the harm’s way. Behind us, the area looks like a secret cave that is mostly covered with thick plants and shrubs. Enigmatic ambiance is filling the large dark enclosed space, which gives me butterflies in my stomach.               “What is this place?” I gently saunter towards the odd cave, having certain reservations.               As I pace near the dim chamber, I notice something bright approaching bit by bit. I suspiciously step backward when I suddenly see the plants shifting its positions to widen the way in. While I am still scrutinizing, someone abruptly emerges through the darkness, with a particular stuff which serves as the source of illumination.               “Aahhh!!!” I snappishly scream, making a high-pitched noise. My whole body turns into ice as a result of dreadful appearance that knocks me for six.               The group hurriedly comes within reach of me, also taken aback to what they have witnessed.               A strange old man becomes more apparent, revealing his mixed black-green hair on his head as well as his long mustache and beard. He looks very unusual, unlike the normal Puissants with pure hues of hair. I mind-blowingly marvel on how he supposedly turned out to be like that.               “Don’t be afraid of him.” Without prior notice, Pixie draws near the strange man. “He’s a friend and he will help us in running away.”               Sapphire unexpectedly rejoins, “So that’s Mr. Richard? The one you’re denoting before?”               “What kind of name is Richard? Is that his birthmark-name? Or maybe Rich is actually his name and he changes it because he became poor, or maybe the prophecy of his mark is not real? How about his hair? Isn’t he a Null Puissant? I thought--” I query.               “Children, we need to go inside first. There are spies in the open air and I’ll just explain everything in the cave.” The man shows the way towards the dark chamber.               Out of the blue, they all agree and go after him; hence I also tag along with them. He doesn’t even mind answering my questions and everyone assumes that I’m invisible. It’s totally sickening.               The Jade girl appears to be very comfortable in negotiating next to the peculiar aged fellow, and so, the others also begin their conversations and I’m at the back, following them through the shadowy hollow. Suddenly, I notice that if we will hide from view, Clever’s car must be kept under wraps. Thus, I take a quick look behind and nothing comes into my sight, indicating that his car is gone astray.               “Clever! Clever!” I shout. “You lost your car and it’s nowhere to be found!”               Without a second thought, he approaches me. “Never mind it.”               “What are you talking about? That’s a very beautiful car and you shouldn’t leave it behind.”               “Haha... You’re too anxious about that. Besides, it’s not your car.”               I sturdily punch his right arm. “I’m not kidding!”               “Ouch! You’re becoming rude Evanesce!” He yells in a teasing manner. “Actually, I just turned my car into an invisible stuff. That’s all. No one stole it, okay?”               “I hate you!” I gnash my teeth irritably, and afterwards set up my knuckles and start off hitting him. This is what I really want to do with Clever, just punch him harder even for a hundred times.               “Ouch!” He incessantly cries out.               “Shush! Please be quiet guys.” Sapphire utters, gesticulating us by placing her forefinger on her lips.                 I pull the plug on my harsh actions and continue moving forward. Clever speedily runs away and perhaps he takes a dim view of me beating his arms tougher which might put him down. Nonetheless, I notice the muteness of Sheen Cliff and Trance Beguile. They haven’t yet said a single word from the moment I came.               The shrubby cave is filled with darkness, whereas the lengthy vines and weird plants are hanging down from overhead. These hitches are getting in the way of our walk and it’s totally winding me up. On the end of the chamber, there is an archaic wooden spherical table and some benches in the vicinity. The only source of light that illuminates our area is the old lamp of Mr. Richard.               “Get a move on here, my children.” The elder directs us toward the table.               At a snail's pace, he sits down on a small chair and we also take the weight off our feet. We encircle the table, whereas the old man is on the edge, Clever and Trance on his left, Sheen and Pixie on the right part, and finally, Sapphire and I are lying in front of him.               Once more, Mr. Richard starts his furtive discourse. “To begin with, you’re here because you want to prepare for the war, and also delay the Transference of your Amethyst friend.”               He suddenly takes a look-see towards me, during which the pulsation of my heart throbs at a rate of knots. In spades, he knows about my drawn-out aspiration but he doesn’t seem to be a burden one.               “Your dear chum is very inquisitive.” He still goes on. Perhaps, he’s been mentioning me regarding that curious thingy. “Anyway, my appearance is uncommon to you especially my hair since I’m a half Phytoman and a half human. I am not actually a Null Puissant. I’m a Devoid Puissant. My father is a Jade and he intently escaped from this place because of two reasons; to escape his Transference and to seize his own freedom. He met my mother, got married, and broke the Puissant Law. Yes, she is a human… Due to a great fear, my parents hid very well that’s why the Constitution couldn’t find them easily. And as a final point, I was born… A scary and odd boy who was hidden for twenty years… A lonely boy who badly searched for freedom… A wretched boy who was living in lies… I thought it would continue forever, but… But they were found…”               He stops for a few seconds and I suddenly interpose. “Found what?”               “An unknown man shrouded me during my parents’ abduction so I wasn’t able to witness the incident. But afterwards, he explained to me everything… The reason of my bizarre life… The real story beyond my knowledge… And the death of my parents… I was too powerless to stop it so all I have to do was go through my life with vengeance living in my heart. That’s why I’m here to help you with my entire capability. Let’s win this war!”             “Am I going to die?” I whisper. He is definitely weird and it’s my first time to hear about a Devoid Puissant. I haven’t imagined the possibility of Puissants interacting with humans. I’m going to freak out now, yet my real birthmark is prickling all of the sudden. It seems that it signifies a meaning and I can’t understand! Besides, what will happen to us if we fail? Is my death patiently waits outside?             Everyone brings their concentrations to me, still wondering about my question.             “No one will die, okay? We’re here to cooperate with each other and Mr. Richard will surely help us. He knows many things.” Pixie interrupts their glances at me.               “That Amethyst girl must pay if something might happen to us!” Sheen Cliff who is sitting on the right side of Mr. Richard shouts unnervingly. He looks at me raptly, with a crimson shade emerging in his eyes like the color of his hair.               Clever butts in. “Hey Sheen! Would you stop it? I will surely hit your face if you lay a hand on Evanesce! We’ll not achieve anything if you keep on uttering nonsense words!”               “Children, please be calm and listen to me.” The old Devoid Puissant utters while signaling us to keep still. “I know this is really a death-defying attempt but we should inquire first before continuing the plan. I’ll ask you once more… Are you going to carry on this dangerous breakout?”               No one acts in response. It looks as if they change their minds upon the subject of escaping since the aforesaid idea is equivalent to a horrific death. Nevertheless, we will certainly undergo a lifetime labor and an endless imprisonment if we don’t make a step onward. And this for the war on Puissant Society. But why are they helping me in delaying my Transference? Is my ability that powerful for them to succeed in the rebellion? It’s undeniably my entire fault.               “I will go with Evanesce. I won’t leave her alone and I’ll sacrifice my own life just to protect her. She will be back here and I’m certain of it.” Trance unexpectedly speaks, looking at my face with his genuine eyes. He is here for me and he’ll do everything for my safety. It’s been a long time after I heard his voice, so gentle, so loving, and so heartrending. I miss this. I miss him so badly. Trance, I don’t want you to be away from me anymore. We have to fight this.               “I won’t also leave my friend here. It’s my task to defend the important persons in my life. I’m always here Evanesce.” Sapphire smiles.               “Of course I’ll go with her!” Clever adjoins and later on blinks at me. “I won’t let an ignorant being wander in the human world! Hahaha…”               “Crazy!” I exclaim at him.               Pixie Solemn suddenly voices, “I might lend a big assistance so I’ll going with you guys. We should do this for our entire race and for the sake of the humans. Our victory is very near so we shouldn’t turn down anymore.”               Sheen who is silently sitting doesn’t mind to respond with us. I know he actually hates me but he should somewhat show a reaction. We gawk at him and afterwards, his lips start to mumble. “I have no choice.”               Then everybody went along with him although agitations are revolving around their minds. I can’t move a single pace and my nerves shout like bursting lava out of a volcano. This is the start. I won’t turn right back around since the journey will start right now.               Trance glances at me with his left hand tapping his nape. He’s indicating something bizarre like signaling a particular and familiar notion he had said to me before. I hope he’s also curious about me. I’m looking ahead that this plan is not beyond his persistence. On the other hand, Sapphire Bliss gives me a once-look-over with some sparkling light appearing on the verge of her sight. Almost everything is being enveloped by darkness and all the objects are vanishing like a computer that abruptly shuts down.               “Hey Evanesce! The plan can’t occur without your puissance and abilities. The route for our victory relies in your hands. You are a Dream Watcher. You should help us upon running away from this super-secured school.” Pixie goes within my way, giving sudden illumination to my gloominess.               I respond, “I’m not certain about my powers but… I’m in!”             Then everybody squeals in delight. This might be our first venturesome quest and we will never perceive the imminent danger verging on us. But hopefulness is raising our spirits so we’ll tackle this no matter what happens.             “Regarding your name, Mr. Richard, why is it like that?” I butt in, sticking my nose in their amusement.             The elderly bloke is about to enunciate his words apropos our final decision but he initially responds on my quizzical enquiry. “My lady, the name of the people is being given by their parents when they are born. The humans have their own unique names, unlike the Puissants whose identities are being accorded by means of their birthmark-epithets.”             I kindly nod and show my tolerant discernment on his amplification. To my incredulity, I am taken aback of grasping that there are several facts I don’t know yet. The world is unusually immense likewise its vast and versatile erudition.             “So straight away, we shall go back to your ultimate decisiveness. The critical plans will turn on right now and you need to divulge your own powers. This is an arduous system so let’s work together.” Mr. Richard instructs.             Sheen Cliff firstly states. “I can manipulate the rocks. And besides, I make tunnels underground, hence I furtively make living quarters beneath.”             “Obviously, I can fly.” Trance adjoins brusquely, which brings about a slight fact about his ability. Everyone gawks at him so he resumes admitting with some reluctance. “I have the power to move something by thinking about it without the application of physical force. Frankly, I can control things telekinetically.”             All of us are filled with wonder and astonishment. He has been concealing that skill for a long time and he looks uncomfortable upon disclosing it. In actuality, I don’t have any idea about his genuine power since from the beginning.             Subsequently, Clever Adroit chimes in with assurance. “You already know my ability and I’m not a closemouthed person. Yet again, I find irresistible towards technology and I’m good at creating high-tech machines or devices. And of course I am more knowledgeable regarding the human’s world. So if you want to know something, just ask me.”             “Your face is swollen with pride, and you’re such a bigheaded guy. Urghh!” I mock pettishly.             “Shut up!” He exclaims.             “Guys, can you please stop and just pin your ears back? We need to be serious regarding this matter.” Pixie Solemn interjects nervy remarks like a cat on a hot tin roof. Afterwards, she calms down and begins her statement. “My plants are great workers and fighters. They will absolutely help us in doing hard tasks and they will protect us if something bad might happen. I’m their queen so they shall obey whatever I want, and of course it’s definitely for the common good.”             “You’re the queen of plants?” I appallingly ask her. The feeling of distress and disbelief bothers my cognizance. I’m also a queen but I’m afraid to uncover my ability in bringing nightmares to anyone.             “Yeah, I’m yet to be. But this is a huge responsibility and I’m somewhat uncertain about it.”             Sapphire sounds out later on. “Actually, I’m just a normal Hydroman who controls the water. But my distinctive capability is being an Easer. I think it’s not special but I can soothe and provide physical relief to anyone or anything that suffers great pain and sorrow. You know that my cognomen is Bliss and mayhap it derives from that epithet.”             “That’s an exceptional ability, my child. It will significantly help you to associate with the people.” Mr. Richard comments while earnestly listening.             “So do you mean that you’re easing me all the time?” I query about her aptitude.             “I’m sorry Evanesce. I just want to alleviate you from being rude always.”             “It’s okay, and perchance I rely on you.”             I am about to ask her lots of inquiries but it’s my turn. As a matter of fact, I don’t want to unlock my real identity. I’ve been currently thinking of what possible power I must tell since they will terribly doubt if I’m not going to say anything. “I can communicate with the ghosts?”             “Hey, come on! All Amethysts can do that.” Clever interrupts.             “Not only so, but of course I’m a Dream Watcher.” Such tension is disrupting my mind and I can’t restrain my gruff pitch. “Yeah. I can let the living things be asleep and I also come into one’s dream to protect them from nightmares. It sounds nonsensical but it’s exactly right.”             “We already know that.” They all thoroughly give me the once-over. I’m looking ahead that none of them will sense my misleading falsehood. But Sapphire’s expression appears to be quite perplexing and she probably knows more about me. Why is she not telling it straight from the shoulder?             “These are almost certainly enough.” Mr. Richard stands up after our conversation. “So at this point, you primarily need to have a rest and slumber before the journey. I’ll be waking you up in the middle of the night, with a comprehensive and effectual plan. There are two rooms behind this shrubby hedge. So just catch some Z's and goodnight my children.”             Then the hedge on the end of the cavern swiftly wheels around, forming a large hole-like-door in which another chamber is to be found. We pass into the entryway and yet again, we catch sight of two more holes.             “The left room belongs to the girls and across from it is for the boys.” I give directions.             Both sides fall in with my demand and then we go on our separate ways. Pixie and Sapphire are alongside me.             A nasty stink clings to our nostrils, which smells like malodorous herbaceous vines. The spine-chilling room seems to be isolated for a long period of time. Furthermore, the whole area is empty and there are no even beds or chairs to lie down.             “Don’t worry. I’ll just call for my plants to provide a place to sleep.” The Jade lends a hand on us.             “Thanks.” We acknowledge.             Various types of plants roll up on the brink of the empty space and then it shape up three separate beds. I comfortably stretch out, staring at the overhead upper surface that is also covered with shrubberies. The two of them looks drowsy so they already embarked on sleeping.             Darkness is filling up the chamber. I keep on mulling over the occurrences that happened today and envisage the possible episodes soon after this night. This is such a groovy birthday although it’s my final celebration here in this place. For a spun-out time, I’ve been waiting for this moment to satisfy my aspiration in exploring the world and finally, it will bring to fruition before long. Henceforth, I will be able to see the city and associate with the humans. I wonder how people socialize with each other particularly when meeting new pals. I hope that they are friendly and nice to all and sundry.             As soon as I encounter a human, I’m going to grab him/her and ask a bunch of questions and he/she will never run away from me.             Do I seem to be terrifying? I think I’m just so excited to see the humans for the first time. I want to mess around with them, discern their manners, play for laughs together, and do extraordinary things far more than our expectations.             In the midst of my thoughts, a vision of a girl suddenly becomes apparent.             “Are you really confident about that matter, Evanesce?” Glory whispers on my right side. She abruptly emerges in a split second, almost causing me to screech at the top of my voice. I have forgotten that she might be following us throughout our initial jaunt and besides she recognizes the schemed plan.             I signal her to become quiet since we’re not alone inside the room. “Please fall silent. I’m afraid they will hear us.”             “Excuse me. Not us, but only you. And anyways, I’m just a phantom through your eyes and they can’t see me. But if you want them to be surely dead to the world, then bind their brains by your powers.”             “I’m not like that. Henceforward, I’m trying to hold back my wicked puissance.”             “It’s a good word of yours.”             “So you’re here to stop me from going?” I softly mutter. I conceive that it’s grueling for her to block me off but if there’s a huge jeopardy, she’ll mayhap beseech me by a long way. However, I’m certain about the journey, thus, not a single person can obstruct me from walking off.             “No, I’m not going to get in the way of your ambition. I’m actually here to give you some instructions and important rules.” She says. Her apparition somewhat illumes the darkness in our area.             “Okay. I’m going to listen.”             “First of all, don’t be asleep. Remember that it’s tough for you to control your powers when sleeping. You have to restrain yourself from giving out nightmares toward their peaceful minds. Always commit to your memory that from now on, you’re going to be a Dream Protector and not a Dream Terror. Understand?”             “Yup, thanks for reminding me.”             “Second, don’t trust anybody. I know that all of them are your friends but then, we’re not persuaded about their real tactics. Just be smart enough in your actions and simply rely on your own perspective. The human world is very different from ours, Evanesce. You need to be rational.” Glory hovers in a sedate manner. “In the third place, be aware of your birthmark. It’s totally unsafe if they perceive your authentic name. Don’t tie up your hair and instead, set it down at all times. Fourthly, when you meet new people, never speak even a single word regarding the Puissant beings and the Coliar Academy. Our realm is being concealed to them and they have been suspicious of our existence.”             “That’s absolutely simple. I can adhere to that without complexities.” I say.             “I’m not finished yet. The last one may be the easiest rule of all.”             “What is it?”             “Before I go, I want you to bear in mind the most important instruction. Evanesce, you need to avoid falling in love with a human.”             My entire sensation turns into ice like a glacier near the Antarctic pole.             Glory Secrete smiles at me and then vanishes. Beforehand, she mutters her last words, “I’ll be waiting for you to come back here. Good luck.”
