From the journal of Marjorie Bruce 25th of April, 1307 Life was easier in Methven. We were still on the run, but no one would suspect that this was our hiding place. It all seemed like a big game of hide-and-seek, something that Father and I used to play when I was a wee girl. Sorcha and I would go to the river every single night at dusk to rid ourselves of the dirt that inhabited our bodies. In a routine fashion, Archie and Alex would leave immediately as we got back, travelling to the river to wash themselves as well. Most nights they would hunt boar, using the darkness as protection from our enemies, and that would become our breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout the next day.
