“He’ll be alright, Vira,” Trevor said to me as we left the now conscious Nikolai in the hands of Doctor Cassian and the nursing staff. His hand was resting on the small of my back, ushering me forward. Trevor let out a small laugh and shook his head. “Besides,” he continued. “With you around, his fire will finally start to come back.”
Being as tall as I was, I stood nearly at eye level with Trevor, so it was easy for me to meet his eyes with a sidelong glance. “Fire?” I questioned cautiously.
