A persistent knock on the door woke her up. She thought she'd been dreaming.Who was the fucker. She stumbled to the door and pulling it open her eyes fell on a familiar face.
"Zed!!!?" she called out in surprise
"Hey shortcake" he smiled at her. He noticed he's been smiling more these days and none of them were fake. How easy it was to smile around her.
"what are you doing here?" she asked
"Can't I come in before you bombard me with questions?" he asked.
She shifted to give him more room.
"sorry"
He went straight to the sitting room and made himself quite comfortable on her sofa.
"Now to answer your question, remember we have a dinner date"
"oh,it totally slipped my mind" she said apologetically
"it's okay,seeing your sleepy face it must have been a wonderful dream"
she looked at him
"why do you say that?"
"I've never heard of anyone who keeps someone at the door for 10mins."
she gasped
" you waited that long? I am so sorry. I'm a heavy sleeper."
"Are you a Libra?" he asked
she frowned
"No, I'm a Scorpio" she stated
He smirked
"that explains the hotness" he said
"Excuse me?"
" Don't get me wrong, its a compliment. You're hot" he said, sincerity glowing in his eyes.
Her face flushed
"whatever. I'll go get changed"
she actually freshened up. Putting her hair in a messy pony tail she wore a pink sweat shirt and baggy sweatpants. Then grabbed a small purse with her credit card and some cash.
" I'm ready"
Even in that casual outfit she was beautiful.He stood up.And they walked out together. His car was in the parking lot.They got in and he drove off. He already made a reservation at a fancy restaurant.
As they drove she asked
"How did you find my lodge? I don't remember sending you an address"
He cleared his throat
"I hope you don't think as some kinda stalker but I know lot more about you than you know"
She gave him a surprised but interesting look.
"I wonder, tell me?"
He sighed
" I know you went for summer camp at a military training sight, I Kno you once ran away from home when you were 15 and also you three best friends "
She was shocked, she never told anyone she had run away from home. Even her parents didn't even notice the three day she was gone.
"How do you know?"
" I guess you really can call me your stalker, I kinda looked you up and believe me and have ways of getting the most hardest information " He said.
She didn't speak she was too dazzled to. Was he being serious? she thought
He reas her looks and thought he probably spoke too early.
"Hey relax,I was kidding around?"
she looked up at him
"I really have no idea if you ran away when you were 15, I just came with it" He explained..She smiled
"You really got me there, I did run away when I was 15 but nobody noticed. I was gone for three days. But nobody seemed to care if I was home or not.That's when it was clear to me I was alone "
A streak of tear fell from her eyes.
"Hey, you're not alone. You have me and I promise you I'll always be here" She wiped her face and smiled widely.
"Thanks Zed, I can finally count myself among the lucky girls to have net a caring guy like you"
"I think I'm the lucky one darling " He flashed her one of those million dollar smiles. Soon they arrived at the restaurant. it wasn't far from her lodge. Parking the car at a reserved space,he les her inside. Someone came to meet the and led them to there table.
"Fancy place" she said when they had ordered
'yeah, but they lack staff" he told her.
Her ears shot up
"Do they take partimers?"
"I think so" he answered
Since it took quite a while to get there order he thought he needed to make small talk
" so what are you studying at Michigan "
" Business admin"
"That's Nice, any business schools in mind for a degree"
"I haven't thought of that yet,I don't really know any but my best friend Jerry suggested one in Florida"
" That's quite far don't you think?" He looked a bit worried
"it is and I don't think I have that kinda cash" he nodded slowly, she continued "well I think there's till time to think about it"
There order arrived. She took in the delicious aroma with a deep breath
"Smells wonderful"
"Tastes even better" he said
"Seems like you're here a lot" She pointed out.
"Business" he agreed.
She wondered, he seemed very rich. she wondered what he did.
"I don't mean to pry but what do you do?" she asked
"That's hardly prying, I'm a multiple business owner and trader"
He told her
" I deal on jewels and rare gems, I run hotels and resorts. I also own a car and shipping company "
She was surprised how successful he was she couldn't help but ask
"How old are you?"
He laughed, surprised at the question.Her face flushed
"26" he said
That got her more surprised
"Wow, you're so young but very rich" he shrugged
" I was eager to be independent " he said
She could never amount to him. Diego Zedler Ardiente. 'Come to think of it, his name was similar to that of the wealthiest a s youngest bachelors in the country and he was also well known outside of it. Though she had no idea what he looked. Then it struck her
" You're the owner Of DA enterprises. The most youngest Business owner in the whole country" she exclaimed.
"pipe down" he shushed
" why didn't you tell me?" she whispered
He sighed
" I didn't wanna brag" he admitted.
" But why didn't I recognize you?" she asked
" Cause I don't like having my picture on the news, too much popularity. I won't be able to move freely without the paparazzi on my heels." he explained.
She nodded,that made sense.But she could barely believe it. she was having dinner with him. And he was just 5yrs older than her. Who knows if it worked out between them. She could be a legible bride. No that was too far thinking. She didn't even notice how red her face was.He was looking at her.
" You seem very excited?" he said noticing the excitement in her eyes.She shook her head
" its nothing" but he smiled of course he knew it wasn't just nothing.
