She arrives home late, her stepmother was fuming mad.
"Where have you been Michelle?" she questioned.
"I took a detour, besides I haven't been out for that long, it's barely been an hour" Michelle answered
Her stepsister glared at her
"I bet you were out hanging out with a boy" Sasha said
Michelle ignored her, she couldn't wait to get back to school, her step mother and sister were evil to the core, they looked for every opportunity to get at her for nothing.
"Michelle of I find out you have a boyfriend, you are dead "Raina threatened. Michelle gritted her teeth.
"Oh?, I see, Sasha can have a boyfriend but I can't how explicable.That won't be happening " Michelle said and streamed off to her room.
"Michelle McCall,if I find you have a boyfriend, you better get ready to move out" Raina shouted.
"That's a better idea than staying in this hell hole." Michelle screamed back before shutting her door.
She screamed into her pillow, she couldn't understand why her dad, thought this woman was an angel
Michelle checked her phone to see a message from an unknown number.
"who is this' she wondered
She checked the message, it read;
'Hey shortcake'
"Shortcake?" she recognized who it was.
'You?? You got me in trouble,you know?" she texted him back. His reply came quicker than she expected.
"I'm sorry shortcake, how can I make it up to you"he asked
"Forget it" she sighed
"When are you free?"He texted
"why?" she asked
"I wanna see you " he said
what was with this guy, hw was really straight forward.
"you can't" she replied
"why not"
She didn't reply
He then called her, she picked
"Hello?" Michelle said into the phone.
"Hey shortcake, are you going to tell me why we can't meet?"
"You'd probably kidnap me, I don't even know you" she said
" we can get to know each other, let's grab a cup of coffee sometime " Hw tod her. Michelle gave it a thought, staying in this house was a suffering. So it would be really nice for her to.leave the house,once in a while.
"Alright, tomorrow then" she said.
"Perfect" He was grinning wildly.
"I'll pick you up", she wanted to object but thought better of it.
"what time should I be ready?"she asked
"How's 12" he said
"okay, see you"
"see you tomorrow shortcake"
Michelle lay on her bed thinking about him. He was very handsome and he had that killer smile. Michelle was quite excited for tomorrow.

Michelle woke up by 10, the next day, she went downstairs and made herself a bowl of cereal and went upstairs. She had just finished when she got a call.
she recognized the number
"Hey shortcake, I'm outside your house"
"What??" she looked at the time.
"it's still 11 dude"she told him
"is it? I guess my watch was faster" he chuckled.
Michelle sighed
"I have to get ready first"
"Take your time shortcake" he said and hung up. Michelle took a shower,the got dressed in a white hoody and a mini pleated skirt. she wore her shoes grabbed her phone and debit card and off she went. When she got to door, her stepmother came out.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"I'm having coffee with a friend, there's nothing wrong with that, is there?"
"I don't think so,you aren't leaving this house today"
"why not? Sasha goes out every day."
"Cause I trust her, you?, not at all. Now go back to your room "Raina said
"This is so not fair "
Just then he called her,
"Aren't you done yet?" he asked
"Newsflash Romeo, my stepmom won't let me go" she informed him.
"Could you stay next to the door" he asked
"why?"
"I'm about to ring the doorbell " with that the door bell rang, everyone paused for a minute. Raina opened the door. He was standing there wearing grey shirt. The shirt wrapped well around his muscles and it gave off a perfect view of his chest. Sasha's mouth dropped in awe and Raina's eyes were wide open. Michelle was already far iffy. He smiled, he knew the kind of effect he had on people.
"Hello, Shortcake, you ready?" Michelle nodded slowly.
*Who are you?" Raina asked returning from her thoughts
"I'm Diego"
"what do you want with Michelle"
"I'm taking her out today, I promised we'd hang out"
Michelle's face dropped,'what the heck?' he just got her in. trouble she thought.
"Sadly she isn't leaving the house" Raina said firmly.
"Of course I am." Michelle stepped out.
"If you move another inch you lady, you 'll see your things outside."
"Then better prepare a perfect explanation for dad". The Michelle grabbed his hand and walked towards his car. They got in, he turned on the ignition and sped off.
She was silent
"Is she really going on do it?" he asked her
"Do what"
"Kick you out?" Diego replied
"She could "Michelle responded positively
"if she does, you're more than welcome to stay with me" he said her. Michelle laughed. Her laughter warmed his heart.
"But seriously, I mean it"he said.
"I'll think about it" she smiled
