The next day, Maya and Vicky met at the school cafeteria. “What’s up Vicky…did you find anything last night?” Maya started. “Uhm, no sorry. I was so exhausted after you left that I had no energy to do any research at all”, Vicky replied. “I totally understand. Well, I found something that may be useful”, Maya responded. Vicky’s eyes widened with hope. “Tell me about it then”, he said.“So, I read online that one can get possessed if the victim’s blood mixes with that of the demon. The only way to expel it is through the demon that gave you the blood”, Maya stated. Vicky paused. When he was able to get his words together, he asked, “So how do we get to this demon that gave me blood I didn’t ask for? Also, if we do meet the demon, how sure are we that it will comply with us to get rid of its blood from my body? This sounds like one big mission impossible I won’t lie to you Maya”.“I know it sounds crazy, but we have to stay positive. We will find the demon”, Maya reassured him. “She sure has her way with words”, Vicky thought to himself and simply nodded outwardly. “Let’s eat. We will talk more about this at your place after school. This place is not really safe for us to talk about it; that is if you’re okay with me coming over”, Maya said.Vicky nodded. They both continued with their food.

In the world of the Sendonkans, there was a meeting ongoing. “My fellow demons, it is about time we set that boy on his assignment, or else we will lose our power over him. That girl Maya is trying to ruin our plans. We have to conquer Earth, take back what is ours, and he is the one with the power to lead us in that revolution”, said the Chief. His name was Suki, the grandmaster of the Sedonkans. “My Lord, I have done my part by bringing him to you, by mixing my blood with his. You promised me a reward for it but I am yet to receive it”,“Don’t be in such a hurry…Zinah”, Chief Suki said smiling, “I will teach you everything I know. I make you my second-in-command”.Zinah grinned. “Thank you grandmaster”, she said bowing. “So, what is the next move?”, another demon named Laga asked. Just then, someone rushed in. “I am so sorry I’m late. It took me a while to get here unnoticed”, the person said. “Well, now that you are here, Dave, I can now share my plan with you all”, Chief Suki stated. “Plan? What plan? “, Dave asked. “Your sister Maya wants to ruin our plans; plans which we’ve hatched for over twenty centuries”.“Vicky is our destined leader. He is to lead us into victory and conquer the human race. He is the one who will weaken the human forces and let us in. This revolution rests on him, but it seems your sister is determined to help him break free from us”, Chief Suki further elaborated. “So that’s the secret she’s been hiding, the so-called work”, Dave muttered under his breath. He looked at Suki, “How do I stop her without hurting her?”, he asked. “You don’t have to hurt her. You just have to get vital information from her. Find out what she and Vicky are up to, that way we can sabotage them until the time is right”, Laga suggested.Chief Suki and the others nodded in affirmation. “What do I do about Vicky, master?”, Zinah asked. “Do what you have to do. Monitor his movements and remember, no one must know you are one of us”, Chief Suki ordered. Zinah bowed in response. Just then, the meeting ended.

Maya and Vicky later returned home. At Vicky’s house, Franca was preparing some soup. “Hi mum! How’s your day been?”, Vicky greeted entering the house. “Good. I’m making some soup for you”, she replied still stirring the pot. “Good day ma’am’, Maya greeted entering right behind Vicky. “How are you dear?”, Franca asked with a smile. “I’m very well, thank you”, Maya replied. “Vicky, may I speak with you in private?”, Franca requested. Vicky nodded and motioned to Maya to wait for him in his room. As soon as Maya left, Franca began to speak in a hushed voice.“I still don’t trust her, son. She keeps following you home. What if she has some ulterior motive?”, she began.“Mum, if you don’t trust her, then you don’t trust me either. I already told you she is just a good friend. Besides, she helped me find my way around school again after the incident, and she’s going to help me find out who I truly am. So she’s with me. I have to go now. Excuse me mum”, Vicky stated, turning around to leave the kitchen space where they had been standing. “What do you mean by helping you find out who you truly are?”, Franca asked with her eyes wide open. Her heart started racing at the thought of Maya leaking the secret to him.Vicky paused. “You’ll see eventually”, he finally muttered, and walked off to his room. Franca stated pacing up and down and crying. “I knew it! She’s going to ruin everything”, Franca said to herself, “what if he finds out and he can’t take it? What if he helps those…those things! He’ll hand the world over to them, and we would be done for. I have to call Troy”. She dialed his number. “Meet me at The Diner later after work please. We have to discuss something. It is urgent. It’s about our son and the whole prophecy. There isn’t much time left”, Franca blurted as soon as the line connected. Troy agreed and the call ended. When Vicky came in his room, Maya was standing waiting for him. He tried to say something but Maya shut him off. “Vicky, you don’t have to explain things to me. I know your mum doesn’t trust me at all, especially now that I’ve been around you for a while now. She’s probably unto us”, she said. “It’s no big deal. You’re my friend now. I already stood up for you. There’s no need to worry about okay”, Vicky reassured her. Maya nodded. “So, what is our next plan?”, Vicky asked.“Well, now that we know what we’re dealing with, we need to find them”, Maya replied. “How do we do that? They’re probably in hiding, somewhere, that is if they are on Earth. They could be in the underworld, I don’t know!”, Vicky answered. “We just need a clue to lead us to them. They could even be closer than we thi…” A voice interrupted Maya mid-sentence.“Vicky! Victor! Where are you?”, the voice called out. “Who’s that calling you?”, Maya asked. “It’s my aunt Zinah. It’s been a while since I last saw her. She’s always busy with work. Wanna go say hi to her?”, Vicky responded.“No, thanks. She may not also trust me like your mum”, Maya replied looking down at her feet. “Come on! You’re my friend now. I want you to meet her. Please”, Vicky asked, trying to convince her with the infamous puppy eyes. Maya smiled. “Fine, I’ll go see her with you”, she agreed. The two dashed out of the room holding hands.“Aunty! It’s been a while. How have you been?”, Vicky asked going in for a hug with Zinah. He was still holding Maya’s hand so the hug was one-sided. “Ah, yes. I decided to take some time off work to come over and say hi to my nephew”, Zinah replied hugging back. She glanced over at the seemingly shy girl who kept her head buried in her shoes. Vicky noticing the awkwardness introduced Maya. “It’s so nice to meet you Miss Zinah. Vicky already told me about you”, Maya greeted with a faint smile. Zinah’s eyes widened. Wasn’t this Dave’s sister; the same one trying to sabotage their plans of world domination? She tried to hide the rage building up within her.“It’s nice to finally meet the only friend Vicky managed to make at school, am I right?”, Zinah said laughing faintly. Vicky and Maya chuckled. “So, do you live around? Do you come here often?”, Zinah asked Maya. “Well, I live a few blocks down the street. Vicky and I are working on a project together so that’s why I come here after school”’ Maya answered, trying her best to carefully select her words. “A project? What’s it about? I can help, tell me about it” Zinah requested. Vicky nudged Maya. “Well, I’m sorry but it’s actually a private project, and we’re supposed to do it ourselves without any assistance”, Maya replied, trying to be polite about it.“Aunty, I know you want to ask more questions but I’m going to have to stop you because we need to get going. We have a lot to do so maybe next time. Am I right Maya?” Vicky stated looking at Maya who nodded in agreement.“Alright then. It seems like you both are in a hurry. I’ll let you guys get going now. Whatever it is, don’t go poking your nose in a place you shouldn’t be”, Zinah responded with a smile. It wasn’t the regular smile, somewhat devilish. They both left for Vicky’s room. Maya noticed he was unusually quiet. “What’s going on? I didn’t say anything to make her suspicious did i?”, she asked worried. “No, you didn’t Maya. I was just…it was a close call that’s all”, Vicky responded. “Okay then. Right now, we have to figure out how to get to these demons before they strike, before they come for me. All this because I’ve got powers I never even asked for”, Vicky said with a sarcastic chuckle. “We will figure this out Vicky. There is a way out, and we will find it”, Maya reassured him.Meanwhile downstairs, Zinah was talking to herself. “Oh well. It seems Maya is so determined to help Vicky break free from his destiny, from us. I have to keep a tab on them, to find out what they’ve discovered and their next moves. This should be easy. Dave is her brother. He can be useful. Vicky must help us conquer Earth, and I must become Goddess of the Universe. I have to stop them, no matter what it costs”.
