Nicholas-Before
I woke up to soft sheets and an empty bed.
“MacKenna?” I called out. I swung my legs over the bed and pulled on my jeans, bare. Without buttoning them, I checked the bathroom and then the rooms on this floor. They were all empty.
I jogged down the steps and headed to the kitchen. It was empty too.
“Kenna?” I called out. I looked in the living room and saw that there was a piece of paper underneath an empty beer bottle, next to my phone. It had one word written on it.
“Sorry”
MacKenna was gone.
