Chapter 9: When Hearts Forget Logic

400 Words
A Love Story That Defies Time By Santhosh Vishwamitra --- Chapter 9: When Hearts Forget Logic Meera had always been a rational person. She believed in logic, in plans, in making decisions based on reason rather than emotions. But ever since that night at Aarav’s apartment, reason had abandoned her. She couldn't stop thinking about him. The way his fingers had brushed against her skin, the way his eyes had darkened when he looked at her lips, the way she had almost—almost—let herself fall. It was dangerous. And yet, it was exhilarating. --- Aarav, on the other hand, was done waiting. For weeks, he had been patient, letting Meera set the pace. But patience had its limits, and his heart was done pretending. That evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, he found her sitting alone at the café where they had first met. She was stirring her coffee absentmindedly, lost in thought. Without hesitation, Aarav pulled out the chair opposite her and sat down. Meera blinked, startled. "Aarav?" He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. "Tell me something, Meera." She frowned. "What?" His gaze burned into hers. "Are you scared of me?" Her breath hitched. "What? No!" "Then why do you keep running?" She looked away, her fingers tightening around her coffee cup. "I’m not running." "Liar," Aarav said softly, shaking his head. "You’ve been running from the moment we met. And I let you. But not anymore." Meera swallowed hard. "Aarav, this isn’t—" "Logical?" he interrupted, smirking. "Yeah, I know. Love never is." She exhaled sharply, her heart slamming against her ribs. "I never said—" "You don’t have to," he cut in. "I know you feel it too, Meera. I see it in your eyes every time you look at me. I feel it every time you pull away. And I’m done pretending we’re just two people who happen to cross paths." Her hands trembled. "Aarav…" He reached forward, taking her hand in his. His touch sent a shiver up her spine. "This is real," he whispered. "You know it is." Meera's lips parted, but no words came. Because, for the first time, her heart refused to let logic win. —Santhosh Vishwamitra --- Next Chapter: The Moment That Changed Everything "Some moments don’t ask for permission. They just happen, and nothing is ever the same again."
