Chapter 16: When Love Becomes Forever
Some love stories burn like shooting stars—brilliant but brief.
Others, like Aarav and Meera’s, were never meant to fade.
The days that followed their conversation at the café felt different.
Aarav wasn’t the same man who once chased after her, pleading for her to take a chance on him.
And Meera wasn’t the same woman who let her fears control her.
They had been through the worst kind of pain—the pain of almost losing each other.
And that changed everything.
---
One evening, they found themselves at the beach, where the sky melted into the sea, painting the horizon in shades of gold and crimson.
Aarav stood beside her, hands in his pockets, eyes fixed on the waves.
"Are you still scared?" he asked, his voice gentle.
Meera smiled, the ocean breeze playing with her hair.
"Yes," she admitted.
Aarav turned to her, surprised.
"But I’ve realized something," she continued, meeting his gaze. "I was never scared of love itself. I was scared of losing it."
Aarav's lips parted, but he didn’t say anything.
Meera took a step closer, slipping her fingers into his.
"And now I know," she whispered, "some things are worth the fear."
Aarav exhaled slowly, as if he had been holding his breath for too long.
He lifted their joined hands and pressed a soft kiss to her fingers.
"You really mean that?" he asked.
Meera nodded.
"I love you, Aarav. And this time, I won’t run."
Aarav let out a soft chuckle, his eyes filled with something warm, something deep.
"You know," he murmured, tilting her chin up, "you have a terrible habit of making me wait."
Meera laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Then don’t wait anymore," she whispered.
Aarav didn’t.
His lips found hers in a kiss that was slow, deep, and breathtakingly real.
A kiss that tasted like love.
A kiss that felt like forever.
