Almost Perfect

15 - Missing

For some unknown reason I ran to him and hugged him. I cried on his chest. I felt him hug me too. He making me calm down by caressing my hair.

I broke away from the hug as I calmed down. He made me sit on the bench of the rooftop. I stared at him.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He laughed at me.

"Surprisingly I hugged and cried in front of the stranger" I answered seriously while looking into his eyes.

He averted his eyes and smiled. He sighed before looking at me "Am I look like a stranger to you?"

I shook. He looked at me confused. "The half of me saying that I know you and the other half of me saying that I don't know you" he smiled at what I said "Do we meet before?"

"Yeah. When your brother punch me in the face"

"No not that. I mean before that"

"What do you think?"

"Yes" he smiled at my answer.

"You still haven't change"

"You know me"

"No I do not"

"Then how can you say that I haven't change if you really don't know me?" He averted his eyes because of what I said.

He was about to speak when my phone suddenly rang. I looked at that and saw Chadd calling me. I looked at Kevin before I answered Chadd's call. I got up and walked. I was away from Kevin and turned away.

"Where are you?" Chadd said with his soft voice.

I sighed before answering "Restroom, why?"

"I'm here in front of your room" I closed my eyes.

"Alright" I turned off the call and turned to Kevin. He is still there. Looking at me. I approached him "I have to go. Let's talk again" he nodded and smiled.

I walked away. I looked at my cellphone time and I still have time. I am not late for my last exam. When I got to the room Chadd was there waiting for me.

"You took several minutes, are you ok?" I smiled at him as I approached and hugged him. "What's wrong?" He hugged me too.

I refrain from being emotional, so I immediately let go of the hug and changed the topic. "Why are you here?" He turned around before looking at me.

"Just checking you" I nodded.

"How about exam?"

"We're done"

"I still have one more subject" he smiled at me and messed up my hair.

"That's fine. I will wait for you here" he sat on the nearby bench where we were standing. That's just opposite the classroom.

"Are you sure?" He nodded at my question. I hugged him before I went inside.

When I entered, my classmates' eyes were on me. Embarrassed I returned to the chair. The girls on my row smiled at me.

"Who's outside? Is he the one who gave that paper bag?" I looked at the paper bag, I forgot about this. I no longer feel hungry.

I arranged the paper bag and sat down before looking at them with a smile to answer "Nope, and he is my brother"

They looked at each other before the other spoke "I think he is familiar as if I saw him somewhere I just can't remember"

"I think on the basketball court. They played before there several weeks ago" they turned to me at the same time. They were looking at Chadd who was busy on his cellphone.

"Really?" They asked at the same time.

"Yeah" I replied while nodding.

"What's his name?"

"Chadd" they both covered their mouths at once.

"The captain. OMG. I didn't recognized him. This is the first time I saw him this close" one of them said.

"Yes. He is especially handsome. I like to stare at him forever" the one agreed with the other girl said.

I smiled as I shook my head. Just like I thought most of the girls here are his fan. I also looked at Chadd because I thought my brother was melting because of the stare of these two. He looked up for a while, and it landed on me, he just smiled before looking back at the cellphone.

"He looked at me" she said while trembling. She was still jumping on the chair, so our other classmates looked at us.

"No. He looked at me and smiled" she said while slapping the other girl so she frowned.

"You two know that she looked at Audrey and smiled" said the man in front of our row. He said that with a laugh. He was beaten and tweaked "Ouch. That's hurt ladies. Is truth hurts?" He was still laughing to pissed the two girls. I laughed at the three of them.

Our professor came in just a few minutes and our last exam started. I smiled when I saw the questions. It's good thing that I reviewed last night otherwise I would not be able to answer.

After I answered I smiled and double-checked my paper, I might have missed something especially my habit of skipping the question when I am not sure, or I do not know the answer.

When I made sure I had no more miss questions I arranged my things so that I would not return to my seat later and I straight out immediately. After I tidied up I looked at my classmates, there were some vacancies that's mean they already left, there were also some who were already arranging things and the others were still answering. I looked at my cellphone time, its still early.

I walked over and handed my test paper and answer sheet to the professor who was watching over us. He smiled at me, so I just smiled at him too. It's good that no one know about the incident that happened few days ago because if there is, and it spreads it seems like I would rather not just go in. All they knew was that I was sick, so I could not go in for three days but in fact I was unconscious then.

I stopped walking when I saw Chadd talking with someone. There is a beautiful woman sitting next to him and talking to him, but he does not seem interested. I took my cellphone and texted him while he was looking at his cellphone.

'I'm done' I immediately hid my phone in the bag when I sent it to him.

I looked at him, I noticed that his thump stopped moving and looked up to find me. The woman next to him imitated him while talking to him. Chadd said something to the woman before he stood up and walked towards me. I saw the woman's face change. She would have been beautiful if she had the same attitude as her face.

When Chadd approached me I hugged him and looked at the woman. I smiled at her. I was surprised when Chadd kissed me on the forehead, but I don't let that girl notice. I looked up and smiled at Chadd. We walked away, but I still looked at the woman, her mouth was shaped 'O' and she could not believe what she saw. Did she think I was Chadd's girlfriend?

When we got to the way of the parking lot I approached Chadd a little. I don't know, but I feel like someone will pull me and take me again. I looked at my brother when he held my arm and smiled at me, maybe he noticed what I did. When we arrived at the parking lot we immediately got in the car.

"Can we go to the hospital?" I remember going to Sam now.

"For Sam?" He asked me a serious question while looking into my eyes. I nodded "Alright" he smiled at me. I also wore a seat belt.

"Lets buy some ice cream" he nodded at me and started driving.

I texted Sam again, but she still did not answer. I'm worried. Did something happen so I could not contact her. I also called her, but she still did not answer.

When we arrived at the ice cream parlor Chadd accompanied me all the way inside. I bought cookies and cream for me then chocolates for Sam, I bought her three. I also bought vanilla for Chadd and Cheese flavor for mom. After I paid, we left immediately, after getting into the car I immediately put all the ice cream in the car refrigerator so that it would not melt.

The ice cream shop we go was not that far from the hodpital, so we arrived right away. I waited for Chadd in the waiting area on the first floor because he was still parking. We walked to Sam's room together.

When I got to the infront of Sam's room I immediately opened it but when I opened the door there was no one in her room that I used to go to. I went in and approached the bed. That was a new bed sheet exchange, so Sam hasn't been here for a long time. I approached the closet then opened it and Sam had no belongings there.

I leaved the room, I left Chadd inside, but I knew he would follow me. I walked over to the nurse station on this floor and smiled as I talked to them.

"Excuse me?"

"Yes ma'am?"

"Where is the patient in room 103?" She looked at her computer record before she answered me.

"She was released, a few days ago"

I nodded and smiled at her "Thank you"

When we got to the car, I put the ice creams in the refrigerator of the car again and wore my seat belt.

"She hasn't told me about that. I should visit her after the incident. I think she is mad at me. I told her that I will go but I didn't. It's been a week. She does not answer my text or call then now she is no longer there "

Chadd hold my hand. I looked at him and he just smiled at me. "Your friend has a reason. Don't tell anything unless you know the whole story and you already listen to her side" I sighed and nodded.

When I got home I got dressed. Mom was happy that we bought ice cream, she said she craved it earlier because she watched something with ice cream in it.

We ate first. After eating, Chadd helped me, I was the one who put away the plates, he was the one who cleaned the table, and he was the one who washed it.

When I got up to the bedroom I immediately went to bed and texted Sam again that I went to the hospital with ice cream, but she was no longer there. I also tried to call her but out of coverage, I can no longer contact her. I hope everything is fine about her. I miss her already.
