Almost Perfect

13 - Stalker (II)

I just let myself be hungry. I will not eat anything. I don't want to go down to the canteen and I don't want to eat what he gave me even though they are my favorite. I sighed. I am alone in our classroom again just like yesterday. I can't help but think that he watches me right now or what. It is clear to me that I am what he needs.

I took the paper bag and stood up. I walked out of the room. Some students are hanging out outside their rooms, so I feel safe. He probably won't attack me in front of some students but its still scary because I don't know if he is one of them.

I just walked until I came to the locker area. I'll just put it here first. I will tell Chadd this later. When I opened the locker I stopped breathing for a moment and stared. There are so many envelopes here there are some fallen in the floor.

I first lowered the paper bag to the floor and one by one picked up the fallen envelopes. I looked around and no one there. I also looked at the other row, but I was alone. I sighed before putting the fallen ones in my locker. I'll just take this later, I didn't bring my bag because I didn't expect this.

I arranged the envelopes I put on the side to have some space, so I could put the paper bag. When I arranged the last piece of paper bag. I noticed some pictures that make my heart beat faster when I saw it on the side of my locker. I put the paper bag first before I took it.

I feel terrified when I saw the pictures. The others are still warm, so I know it was not long before it was printed.. I looked at the side of my locker where the lock is, and I had the right suspicion that it opened by force.

"Who is that?" I ask out of nowhere when I heard a crackle. As far as I know I am the only one here. I check this place earlier I'm the only one here. I also did not hear footsteps or noise from the heels, so I am sure no woman entered. This is a girl's locker room, so no boys is allowed here.

I looked to my left and right but no one showed even a shadow. I closed my eyes and calmed myself. I still have two subjects left, I don't want to collapse here and miss those two. I took a deep breath before staring at the pictures I was holding. After a second I returned the pictures to my locker.

I went back to the room. There are already some students here, and we still have 5 minutes before class, but our teacher is already sitting in front of us. I greeted him, and he just smiled at me in response. When I sat down I looked at my cellphone and I text Chadd.

'I have something to tell you'

'Are you fine?' He immediately replied to me.

'Yes'

'You sure?'

'Yeah. I just want to talk to you about this. Let's talk later, my prof is here'

'Alright'

I just focused first and waited for my class to end. I feel the time become slow I can't help it but to check the every time I have a change. As time went by, my heartbeat beat fast. I took a deep breath and calmed myself. I still have 1 more class.

After my last subject I quickly arranged my belongings and went straight to the locker room. When I got to the locker room there were some students that fixing their things.

When I opened my locker I took the paper bag and put it first on the floor beside my feet. I opened my bag to put it on the end of the locker so that no envelope would fall. I just slid the envelopes down into my bag that's why some of them falling on the floor, I will pick up later.

I also opened the bottom of my locker and I did not make a mistake there are also envelopes there. I sighed and grabbed them with my both hands, so I could put them in the bag.

My bag is almost full of this stuff. After I cleaned my locker I picked up the ones that fell one by one then I locked my locker. I smiled bitterly, and I felt my heart beat faster again because of the picture I was holding. It didn't exist before, I'm sure it here earlier, and it's still warm.

This picture is when I came back from the locker earlier when I texted Chadd. The picture also have my teacher who was already sitting in the front while waiting for his time.

I looked around, and I'm the only one left, so I hurried. I put it all in the bag. I will only carry the paper bag because it might end up spilled in my bag, I don't want to get my stuffs wet.

I took my cellphone out of my pocket when I felt it vibrate. I looked up and saw Chadd text.

'Where are you'

'Locker. I'm already on my way there'

I walked to the parking lot. There is no other place where we can meet. I stopped walking when the light suddenly went out. I turned on the flashlight of my cellphone and walked around. Nobody behind me or beside me. I continued walking. I turned around again when I heard a footstep but nothing, there's no one around.

I walked fast while dialing Chadd's number. I heard it ring before someone grabbed me and covered my mouth. My phone fell to the floor, but I saw Chadd answer the call.

I took off my bag because he was holding it and forced removed his hand to me so that I could leave. I get my cellphone and ran away from him.

"Chadd"

"Where are you" I just sobbed out of fear. "Are you crying? Where are you Audrey?" The exit door just closed. I thought this is automatic when it sensor someone it will open but why I can't open it, is the program reversed? "Audrey" I looked behind me and I saw the person who chasing me walking towards me, I could not see his face because of the darkness.

I knocked loudly on the glass door. Its transparent and as far as I know it is not easily broken like bulletproof. The only way in my mind is to have his attention. After a few seconds Chadd turned to me. "There is someone behind me" I cried and said it softly on the phone I do not know if he heard or understood what I said, he let go of his phone and immediately ran to me.

I was grabbed by someone. He held my waist and covered my eyes. He's taking me somewhere, he carried me suddenly, so I can't use my feet to stop him to drag me. I resist, but he is stronger than me. I heard the door, I knew Chadd was forcing it to open.

I no longer fought when I felt a tightness in my chest. I have difficulty breathing. For a few moments I could not move my body and gradually I felt drowsy.

I'm so weak to react when he suddenly let me go. In just a few moments of silence I felt a warm hand touched my skin. I tried to open my eyes, but I can't move, I'm so weak.

"Rey" I heard his voice clearly. In that voice I can feel that he is worried. I know this is not Chadd's voice. "Stay with me" I felt that he carry me like a newlywed. I forced my eyes to open. I looked up at him, I could not face him because my vision was blurred I noticed the edge of my eye that someone was lying not far from us. "I won't forgive myself if something happened to you"

I smiled and took a deep breath "It's not your fault" I weakly promised him. I slowly closed my eyes. I can't fight back the pain that I'm losing my breath. I'm so weak to fight and to stay awake like the doctor said to me before. The last thing I heard was Chadd's voice calling my name before I fainted.
