Prince Kellan
It's safe to say I've never met a woman like Enya. I underestimated her after I saw her for the first time. I thought she would back down from challenging the Prince, but I was so wrong. Then I underestimated her strength and her abilities.
And even though my pride is badly hurt, I'm glad I've met her. It's not every day that a warrior will challenge the Prince. And win! She put me in my place, or on my back to be precise, in no time, but I was enjoying it. Until my Father came, that is. I know what awaits me later. A talk with my Father about me being a disgrace to the royal family. But that can wait. He can wait, Enya is more important. I need to see her again. And talk to her.
After she tossed me to the ground and mimicked tearing my throat, she stepped aside. Those few seconds when she was so close to my throat were exhilarating. She could probably tear me to shreds without batting an eyelash, but Goddess, she felt good.
My wolf completely surrendered to her, letting her do whatever she wanted. He even purred in my head when she was so close to our throat. Her body on top of mine, her lips getting closer to my most sensitive area.
Our throats are the most vulnerable parts of our body, so we hardly let anybody come close to them. Only our mates are allowed to touch us there, to kiss us there, or to nip. We even allow them to bite us there, creating a unique mark. The mark that tells everybody we have found our soulmate, our mate, and there will never be anybody else for us.
I was lying on the ground for a while before a warrior approached me and helped me to stand up. Not that I was wounded or anything like that, I just didn't want the moment to pass. I know when I move, the moment will be over. Now I can still feel her weight on me, even though she is not on top of me anymore.
When I get back on my feet, Enya is already marching in the direction of Gamma Max's office, with him leading the way. Another man is coming with them, the one I saw before talking to Enya. He looked protective of her. I don't like him. I don't want him anywhere near her. And I want to know his intentions with her. Is he her mate? Probably not, because he's not touching her.
If she were my mate, my hands would be constantly on her, all over her, never leaving her perfect body. I follow them, not worried about the commotion our sparring match left. I saw Father leaving the moment I was tossed to the ground. So I don't need to go to him unless he calls for me. Which will be any second, so I should better hurry up and catch up with Enya.
When I'm in front of Gamma Max's doors, I hear his voice from behind the closed doors.
'Why the hell did you play with him? You should have ended it after your first attack and we both know it. Taylor knows it, too.'
'I told you to end it as soon as possible. Why are you doing this? Do you know the consequences of what you have done today?' The other man, Taylor probably as Gamma Max called him, speaks too, lecturing Enya. Who is he if he thinks he can lecture her?
'I did as you said...' Enya starts but is interrupted quickly.
'NO, you didn't. You think this is all game and all fun, but it's not. You got yourself into a mess that even I don't know the full extent of. The King saw it. I can't tell what punishment awaits you after your challenge. I'm sorry, Enya, but it's up to the King now. And if he says you are suspended, then I will respect his decision.' Gamma Max says, sounding worried. So he cares for her.
'No, Max, I'm sorry, okay? You can't suspend me. I'm your best warrior!' Enya pleads with him.
'That's the problem, Enya. You always count on that. You are the best and that was the reason I always stood up for you, but I can't this time. It's not up to me this time. I'm sorry.' Gamma Max concludes.
'I understand.' Enya says reluctantly.
'Come here, little sis.' Taylor says, probably inviting her to give her a hug. They are siblings? They don't look like it.
'Your Highness, what can I do for you?' Gamma Max opens the doors suddenly. Busted!
I have a strong urge to facepalm myself. Of course, they knew I was there. They are wolves, warriors nevertheless. They are trained for these situations. My wolf is shaking his head at me. Like he wasn't curious.
I step inside the office and find Enya in Taylor's embrace. Like I thought.
She looks remorseful for once and it breaks my heart to see her like this. I may not know her for long, hell, I don't know her at all, but it still feels like I know her, like she is the key to something. Something intended only for me. I want to growl at Taylor, but then I remember he called her little sis. I take a deep breath to compose myself. I don't want to look like a jealous idi*t, even though I'm jealous as hell that she is in another man's arms. He is her brother, I have to repeat several times in my head.
'I want to apologize if I got you in trouble. It wasn't my intention to mess up with you or your career. Sometimes I forget that my actions have an impact on people and not every time that impact is positive. Like this time. I will make sure you are left... without punishment.' I don't know what went over me to say these words. I've never apologized to anybody in my life, so why now, and why to this girl? I know why. Because she is different. She is something else.
'Thank you, your Highness. I'm sorry for... everything.' She says to me while looking into my eyes. I smile at her and she smiles back.
Okay, this is too much. Enya I met about an hour ago didn't smile even though I wanted her to do so badly. She smirked but never smiled. I like it, and I hate it at the same time. I enjoyed her feisty side and I want to see it again. Time to go back to my usual charming self.
'You can make it up to me. I already have several suggestions on how you can apologize properly.' I tell her with a smirk of my own. And her mood changes in an instant. In front of me is standing an I-don't-give-a-damn-about-your-handsome-face Enya. Her brows are raised, and her hands are crossed on her chest. Goddess those breasts!
'I already have several suggestions on how I can...' She starts before her mouth is covered by Taylor's hand.
'She wanted to say 'Let's keep it professional between us'.' Taylor says while Gamma Max is shaking his head, annoyed.
'And you are?' I ask annoyed, too. I was hoping for a reaction from her. I was craving it. What can I say, she turned me into a crazy man.
'I'm sorry, Your Highness. I'm Taylor Redfang, Enya's brother.' He says and extends his hand to me. I shake it, out of politeness and because I was raised to do so. Not that I want to.
I look at Enya, who still has her hands crossed on her chest. I need to go before I start fantasizing about those breasts, not that I won't later in my room, probably in my shower. I can't wait for our time together on this journey.
'Okay, that was nice. I should go now. See you tomorrow, Gamma Max and Enya. Taylor, goodbye.' I tell them and head out of the office. My Father has been trying to mind-link me several times by now. I am blocking him on purpose. I didn't want to be yelled at in front of Enya. Before I am out of earshot, I hear Enya yelling.
'You should train more, Prince Kellan. It will be good for you, so no other woman will be able to do what I did today.' I smile at the remark. Of course, no other woman will do what she did. I don't know any other woman in such good shape and with such abilities to do so.
Maybe she is right, though, and I should train. Being the Prince doesn't mean I'm stronger than everybody else. She proved it. And I wouldn't mind training with her. I would enjoy it even. Maybe I will start when we get back. I will, I'm sure of it.
-------------------------
Like I expected, Father yelled at me for being weak and losing to a woman. Technically, I lost to a warrior, and he should have been glad our warriors were well-trained and strong.
But I didn't point it out aloud. I wanted to be done with him as soon as possible. My brother I-know-it-all almost chocked himself after hearing I challenged Enya. He specifically asked me if it was Enya Redfang as if there were other Enyas like her. Apparently, he heard about her. He called her bat sh*t crazy and I growled at him, surprising him and our Father. Nobody is calling her names, not in front of me! Kevin said she would rather die than lose to anybody, that she has no self-preservation and always goes head-on to every situation, no matter what it is.
I don't think he knows her. He may heard stories about her, but that's all. He doesn't know her, because he would never say something like that.
I made sure she wouldn't be punished. I explained it was me who initiated the challenge, and that I wanted to know how good she was if she was my bodyguard for the ride.
