Willing To Stay Poor And Poor

"Lacy!" Snapping out of trance, Lacy turned to gaze at the young maiden in front of her, she had a beautiful slightly tanned skin, midnight hair that had been tied into a messy Pony tail, her oval face accentuated her delicate yet tough features. She was just as pretty as a wild flower, but if one could give her a three seconds observation, they would immediately recognize the striking ressemblance she had with Lacy about 50% in ressemblance. Just like a twin, not just ressemblance, but they were both beauties. But despite being twins they didn't have identical features, but they both were beautiful. Perharps because her twin sister had lived a tough life compared to hers she developed a wild side and expression. Despite this fact and slight differences, Lacy didn't feel it made any big differences. The young maiden in front of her was her twin sister, infact she would rather Say Audrey was her triplet, because they were infact triplets born on thesame day but different minutes. Audrey was elder, followed by her second sister Nadia and finally with Lacy as the last, and if they followed their birth minutes, Audrey should be her elder by fifteen minutes or so. But it didn't matter, as long as they were connected and nothing caused their relationship to waver, the rest didn't matter. Opening her mouth to speak, yet interrupted by the surging cough that seemed to burn not only her throat but made her chest uncomfortable. She coughed slightly five seconds before a cup of water was placed in front of her by her twin. Not standing on ceremony she grabbed the allumium cup and slowly gulped down some water to ease the discomfort in her throat. Her face was flushed red, looking pale and making her look even more sickly. However, despite her frail and unhealthy appearance, she still had that charm that couldn't be ignored. As if not even her corps could hide her ethearal beauty. "Sis..." Clearly aware of her sister's next words, Lacy immediately interrupted with a wave of hand, causing her sister to reluctantly shut up. But her expression couldn't hide the heart ache and guilt she felt towards her sister. Lacy's health had always been weak from birth because in their mother's womb, she hadn't been able to receive much nutrients, causing her to be born sickly. But it was different for her, she had practically absorbed everything, causing her to feel guilty towards her sister. But she respected Lacy's choice not to talk about the past, she clearly recalled her words that said. "It's pointless to feel regrets, because regrets can't or change undo the source of regrets. The past is like water spilled on the ground, once it's gone it's gone. Don't even think about 'what if'. There's no 'what if.' so don't keep harping on pointless memories " She knew as well that was pointless, so though she couldn't help it, she had to listen to her sister. Lacy didn't harp on it either, after gulping down the last drop off water she passed the cup to her sister and asked. "So how was it?" Audrey thought about it for a while, with an obvious frown on her beautiful brows she looked at her sickly sister with a sad expression. Yes she was sad, thinking about the 20$ dollars note that had been taken by their father, she didn't know if she should be angry at her mother who had given it so willingly or at her father who had no scrupule in taking it either. Both parents were aware that Lacy was sick and she needed to take drugs, she would understand if they couldn't afford a hospital bill. After all their Family wasn't a well todo, so a hospital was quite a luxery to them. She sighed helplessly and still recounted everything to her sister, despite her reluctance, she still needed to say it. If she couldn't say it, could it be she wanted to keep it for herself, then didn't it mean the task she was given had failed. Though she did what she was asked, if she didn't bring news back, then she failed. If she failed then she failed her mission as well and she had grown up with the mentality that every task must be completed to the least insignifcant detail. "Alright !", Lacy gave a plain reply with an indifferent expression, as if everything that had just been mentioned had nothing to do with her. But could it be it really had nothing to do with her? Of course not, it really had everything todo with her, the man who took away her source of medical intervention was her father and the woman who gave it up was her mother. Her indifference didn't mean she didn't care, she had just never put her heart in it, besides she seemed to have no feeling towards those two individuals, but she had never been disrespectful towards them either. She was just... indifferent "Have you bought what I asked?" Changing the topic immediately, Lacy reminded Audrey about the other mission. Without further delay, Audrey quickly brought out from her old leather bag few dry herbs. "I bought them as required, unlike those western drugs, herbs cost less, it cost me only a few cents." However, those were their last saving, it was money given to them every Christmas and New Year. They had saved it for at least three years and it had made all together two dollars. However, because it was winter and food had become scarce, while Lacy's old ailement had acted up, they had used up their money to the last cent. However, Audrey didn't regret it, as long as it helped Lacy to get better, she wouldn't mind stealing some few chickens as well. Lacy was skinny and all bones, it would be good to make her some nutritiouse food. They couldn't rely on their father and their mother couldn't be any better, she gave up her hard earned money so easily. Did she forget that she still had a sickly daughter. "Don't worry, I'll help you earn more money after winter." Audrey's eyes shined bright for a while thinking about making money. She really wanted to make money and buy many nutritious supplements for her sister. She couldn't let Lacy suffer so much, even the clothes she wore were old and tattered. Don't look at how pretty and fairylike her sister looked dressed in her old clothes everyday. The clothes were and washed off long ago, with some few patches to it, besides they had only cost two to three cents, nothing much. Her dresses were obviously better than that of her sister because it had been recently bought, she had even thought of giving them go her, but was immediately rejected by her. She couldn't do anything about it and could only wea it, however, looking at the tattered dress worn by her sister, they seemed to be a stark difference to it. Wasn't it because Lacy would look good even in rags? So, thinking about the money she could make, the first thing she would do was take care of her sister. However, when Lacy's words rang in her mind again, she panicked. Did her sister feel guilty for spending her money and thought of repaying her? Audrey was in frenzy at this sudden thought, she didn't need any repayment, did her sister think they weren't close enough to use each other's things. If not, why would she need to help her earn her money back? "No sister you can't, you don't have to help me earn money. I'm willing, I'm willing to stay poor and poor!" Her serious face despite looking at little funny had stunned Lacy for a few seconds. Audrey was a rather straightforward person, it was even difficult for her to explain her thoughts. Others might misunderstand her but not Lacy, they were twins after all. Rubbing her fur jet black hair, Lacy opened her lips and spoke with helplessness. "What other ideas had grown up in this little head of yours.
