Chapter Seven

My mouth fell wide open and so did everyone else's. Ok please repeat that, did he just say.... I’m a lost vampire princess and....and that I'm already a....vampire? Hh my god I need to get away from them fast. They’re crazy!

"That's impossible! The princess died long ago," the black-haired man said turning his head to the side to get a better look at me.

"I know, but the sky and her eyes change to the black of our night and..... she had the red line across them, I had no choice but to......to change her."

He isn't joking! My heart started beating hard against my rib cage and I couldn't breathe normally. My eyes just stayed looking at the wooden wall. I couldn't feel anything, not only am I dead now but.... but I'm a dead, lost, blood, vampire princess?! This is f*****g crazy, insane! They're on drugs. It has to be drugs.

None of this is making any sense! "You fool! You weren't meant to bite the princess!"

"I had to......she would have died otherwise," James said never giving me a glance behind him. Ok snap back to reality, I looked around and found a window big enough for me to fit through.

So, if I'm a vampire I should be hard to catch right? Oh god, I need to deal with this later. I got up slowly and counting to five in my head I ran to the direction of the window. Instead of opening it I just lunged towards it and felt the glass shatter against my skin.

"Brie!" I heard James call after me from inside. I hit the roof and rolled over my head onto the grass landing on my back. I opened my eyes and jumped to my feet sprinting off. Jesus Christ! I am a vampire! That would have broken someone's back but.... but that didn't even hurt me a little!

I kept running looking behind me occasionally. I ran into the dead forest leaves hanging like claws from the trees, "Brie! Stop! Come back!" I could see James running behind me in a blur with the speed he was going at, if he can't reach me by now.... that...means that.... I’m going at the same speed!

I kept running and gave up the looking behind me. "Ah!" I tripped on a twig on the floor and went wheeling to the floor with my arms under me. I pulled myself up but now the fear was full on me now. I felt a pair of strong hands tighten around my waist and I fell to the ground screaming and with James on top of me.

His eyes were red and....and green pupils! For the first time I saw his fangs, they were sharp, long and thin. He was leaning in and my screams stopped. My dream.... this is what happens in my dream! "Please no!" I cried out.

"Brie clam down, I'm not gonna...." he pulled back to speak but I cut him off by bringing my left fist up and connecting it with his eye. "s**t Brie! I'm not gonna kill you!" he shouted frustrated at me.

"No! It's too late for that, you've already killed me! You lied to me!" I screamed back at him. My anger was showing now. I came back to say sorry and that I didn't care that he wasn't normal but instead I found out I'm a princess and that.... that I'm dead! This can't be happening.

"I lied to give you a normal life," he said pulling me up to my feet.

"A normal life! What happens when I start to crave human blood?! Do I just kill whoever's closest to me!?! is that normal!?!" I asked pushing him away from me. "You made me into a vampire! That pain I went through when I woke up after you bit me.... was me changing, wasn't it!?! You...you did this to me," I could feel tears began to form in my eyes.

"You're not a full vampire, you're a half vampire," he said looking down at the floor.

What is this Darren Shan now?! I took a deep breath and released it. "I had to.... bite you, it was the only way that you wouldn't die." I looked back at him in sympathy. Ok, so I think I can deal with stuff now apart from the whole princess vampire thing.

Fuck, is this how my emotions were gonna be from now on?

"Will I need to...." he stopped me halfway understanding what I was going to say.

"No, you'll have the urge to feed for a few days but you will not have to feed, and after that, you can go back to eating normal food, you're more human than a vampire in this case." I couldn't look up at him, the one guy I liked ended up half killing me! Breathe, breathe, breath I kept telling myself. This is gonna be one long, long night.

"You'll have to come back to the house; they're going to want to ask you some stuff." I nodded and walked in front of him. I didn't want to talk to him let alone look at him at this very moment. Will ok if they want to ask me questions, I'll have the right to ask them some stuff too and find out about what I am and that stuff about the sky, eyes and the lost princess. Please let them be on drugs, please!

We got the door and James grabbed my arm gently turning me around to face him. "I would never dream of hurting you, I had to please remember that when.... you find out.... things and.... remember that...." he cut off and touched my arm slightly.

"I'll try," was all I could say, I knew they were going to tell me things I could never even dream of, but I don't think I can stop myself from thinking that he is a monster. I felt so guilty for that, but I can't lie and say I will when right now I'm as pissed off as I've ever been.

Truth is that yes, he is a monster...but maybe he's a monster with a.... a.... soul or maybe what he is isn't who he is. I thought I really wanted him but now I don't know what I want, I guess I'll make up my mind once I know everything there is to know about vampires and...and me.

I walked into the house and took a seat on the single couch. James stood in the door frame watching as the three other vampires came to sit down on the sofa opposite me. "I'm John," the tall black-haired man said holding out his hand.

I shook it unsteadily, "I'm Matt," said the blonde haired boy who stood in front of the door before, again I shook his hand and finally I shook the quite tall, muscular, quiet blonde boy's hand, "And I'm well I'm john too but they call me J.T" he was friendly and earned a smile from me.

Ok apart from the whole trying to kill before but hey people can change.... right? "Ok so......" John started but James walked in and cut him off, "Let's let Brie get comfy first before we unload all the information and questions on her," they all sighed and walked to leave the room.

J.T looked back at me and winked whilst saying, "We weren't going to kill you, just in case that's the reason you might not want to be all honest with us." And with that he left. James took a seat in front of me and looked me straight in the eyes.

"I don't want you arguing, you're staying here for a while not forever just a few weeks or so then you can go, you can take a shower now and then afterward I'll tell you all you have to know about being a half vampire and a full vampire, then the other guys are gonna tell you some extra stuff about you being the lost blood vampire princess and all the questions. We've all got a little different knowledge on certain things. Better to tackle this as a group."

I nodded and then he led me upstairs to the bathroom. I closed the door and started the water. He's ashamed of what he is, he feels guilty about what he HAD TO DO. Well great now I just feel like bigger s**t!

I'm not gonna lie I'm excited to know all those facts that their gonna tell me but the whole vampire princess thing I'm dreading like hell.

Looks like I'm a bigger freak now.
