Chapter Six
When we arrived back at New Cumberland, we went to our respective training barracks. I wanted to check in with the sergeants to see if anything had happened over the weekend that I should know about. The sergeants had the men working within the barracks, standing guard and performing KP duties. After my brief conversation with the sergeants, I walked over to the mess hall to have dinner. When I entered, I spotted Cosby sitting at a table in the officer section. I moved toward him and sat down. After placing my food order with the waiter, I said to Cosby, “So, are you going to continue to see that young lady you spent the night with over the weekend?”
