Chapter Eleven
I took another day and drove down to South Carolina to the University. I checked into the registrar’s office and informed them that I’m home from the war. I further told them that I should be learning something about the resignation of my commission and discharge very soon. I wanted to ensure that once I got the all clear from the Army, I would be returning to the university to finish my last semester. The woman in the office took my name and said she would keep it on her desk. As soon as she received my call, my name would be moved up on the acceptance list.
