Chapter Eight
The three of us walked about a half mile down the main street until it turned into a country road of sorts. After walking another quarter of a mile there was a quaint little house with a sign on the front lawn that simply stated, ‘Dentist.’ There was a side entrance. Lucy put her key into the lock and opened the door. Just inside, there was a flight of stairs that led to the second floor and a door to the left that led to her office. We climb the stairs and entered the apartment. Alice found a light and turned it on. We took off our coats. Alice opened a closet door with hangers. We hung up our coats and crossed into what appeared to be a dining room. Lucy turned to me and said, “Sit down and I’ll get us something to drink. Is there anything that you prefer?”
