PREPARATION AND GLAMOUR

908 Words
Serena Calloway’s POV I stood in the center of the bridal suite, taking it all in. My wedding gown shimmered under the golden glow of the chandeliers, its delicate lace catching the light. It was the most beautiful dress I had ever seen. "You are glowing, Serena," Cassidy said as she fluffed the skirt of my gown. "Noah is going to lose his mind when he sees you." I let out a soft laugh. "I just want everything to be perfect." "It already is," Olivia chimed in from the vanity, adjusting her earrings. "This wedding is straight out of a fairy tale." It did feel magical. The grand ballroom had been transformed into a dreamscape of white roses, golden chandeliers, and flickering candlelight. Everything was exactly as I had imagined. The wedding planners moved swiftly around the room, making last-minute adjustments. A hairstylist pinned the final touches of my curls, securing the delicate tiara that held my veil in place. Another artist finished my makeup, brushing a soft blush onto my cheeks. "All done," the stylist announced. I turned to the mirror and gasped. The woman staring back at me hardly felt real. My dark hair cascaded down in soft waves, my eyes shimmering with excitement. The fitted bodice of my dress hugged my figure before flowing into an elegant, sweeping skirt. "You look stunning," my mother whispered, her eyes filled with emotion. I reached for her hand. "Thank you, Mom." She squeezed my fingers, then turned to the bridal party. "Alright, ladies. We have a schedule to keep!" Cassidy handed me a glass of champagne. "One last toast before you become a married woman!" We all raised our glasses. "To Serena and Noah," Olivia said. "To love," Cassidy added. I smiled. "To forever." The bubbly drink tickled my throat as I took a sip. Excitement fluttered in my chest. There was a soft knock at the door, and the wedding coordinator peeked in. "The guests are arriving. It is almost time." My pulse quickened. "Okay," I breathed, trying to steady my nerves. Cassidy grinned. "You got this, babe." I let out a deep breath. "I know." The next hour passed in a blur. My bridesmaids helped me into the limousine, where the leather seats gleamed under the soft interior lights. The scent of fresh roses filled the air. I smoothed my hands over my gown, feeling the weight of the moment settle in. My mother sat beside me, her hand resting on mine. "Are you ready, sweetheart?" I turned to her, my heart swelling. "I have never been more ready for anything in my life." The limousine pulled away from the hotel, gliding through the city streets. Outside, the world felt alive. People bustled along the sidewalks, the skyline stretching high above them. It was a perfect day. The sky was clear, the sun casting a golden glow over everything. As we neared the venue, my phone buzzed. Noah: Almost time, my love. I cannot wait to see you. I smiled and typed back. Me: I am on my way. I love you. A reply came instantly. Noah: I love you more. Always. I clutched the phone to my chest, warmth spreading through me. The limousine pulled to a stop in front of the grand entrance. My heart pounded as the driver stepped out to open the door. Cassidy reached for my hand. "This is it." I swallowed hard and nodded. With one deep breath, I stepped out of the car. The entrance was lined with white roses, their scent sweet and intoxicating. Guests were already making their way inside, dressed in elegant gowns and tailored suits. The wedding planner rushed toward us. "Everyone is seated. We are ready to begin." My mother kissed my cheek. "I will see you inside." She disappeared into the venue, leaving me with my bridal party. Elliot appeared at my side, offering his arm. "Nervous?" "A little," I admitted. He chuckled. "That is normal." I turned to him, searching his face. "Are you happy for me, Elliot?" He hesitated for a fraction of a second before nodding. "Of course." Something in his expression felt off, but I brushed it aside. Today was not the day for doubts. The wedding coordinator lifted a hand. "Alright, ladies. Let’s go." One by one, my bridesmaids stepped through the grand doors, their dresses flowing behind them. The music shifted. A soft, breathtaking melody filled the air. My breath caught. This was it. Elliot squeezed my hand. "Let’s get you married." I nodded and took the first step forward. The doors opened, revealing the breathtaking ballroom. Hundreds of guests turned in their seats, their eyes filled with admiration. Golden chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting a warm glow over the sea of white roses and candlelight. And at the end of the aisle, standing tall in his crisp black tuxedo, was Noah. My heart clenched. His eyes locked onto mine, his expression soft and full of love. For a moment, the world disappeared. It was just the two of us. As I walked forward, my hands trembled. My emotions threatened to overwhelm me. When I reached the altar, Noah took my hands, his grip warm and steady. "You look beautiful," he whispered. A tear slipped down my cheek. "So do you." He chuckled softly. The officiant smiled. "Shall we begin?" Noah and I exchanged a glance, love shining between us. And with that, the ceremony began.
