Chapter 14

1650 Words
Ethan's POV I stumbled out through the back door of the storage room; my body was still reeling from the pleasure of what had happened just now. My mind went right back to it. Hell, the moment Marcus had come knocking on that door, whatever I had been high on that had made me go to his wife this night had cleared off me. But strangely enough… I didn’t feel guilty. No, it’s not that I didn’t feel guilty, but the feel of Jessica’s lips wrapped around my c**k… the smell of her heat… it drowned it all out. And now I don’t even know what to feel anymore. Fuck. I ruffled my already messy hair as I sauntered into my room, my body still humming from it. I walked straight into the bathroom to wash off the filth clinging to me, and as the cold water hit my skin, it all came rushing back. Her mouth wrapped tight around me. Her fingers teasing my balls. Sh*t. I hissed under my breath. For a b***h who knows how to mess with a man’s sanity, she sure knows how to handle a man. I won’t even lie—that was the best o****m I’ve had in a long time. Even Karin hadn’t made me come undone like that before. I stepped out from the bathroom, towel hanging low on my hips, and for a fleeting second my mind drifted to Marcus. I knew he was with her now, and that made me wonder what would happen if he ever found out about us. He didn’t catch us. She had been smart enough to go distract him. But still, my mind wandered. Hell… what would have happened if he had caught us? Would I have been able to stand there and face him? I thought on it, but of course I couldn’t come up with anything that made sense. So I pushed it out of my mind and let my body sink into the bed, not surprised at how light I felt right now—something I hadn’t experienced in weeks. Sure… she was really good. Way too good. And maybe… it wouldn’t hurt to try her again. Yeah, I know it’s crazy, wrong even. I have a girlfriend. Marcus is my brother. But when it feels like my body only responds to her… do I even have a choice? --- I woke up the next morning to the sudden ringing of my phone. My eyes were still heavy with sleep as I reached for it beside me. It was my personal assistant calling. I didn’t think twice before answering, only for him to break the last news I would ever want to hear so early in the morning. “What, Marcus?!” I practically screamed, jumping off the bed in an instant. “What did you say Marcus did again?” I didn’t even wait for his reply before I threw off my phone and stormed straight to the bathroom. Marcus—My fist clenched tight as I recalled what my PA had just reported to me about him. How dare he?! ___ I walked into the boardroom, breathing really hard, my suit jacket hanging open, and my shirt collar loose. The air felt cold, but my skin was hot, my pulse pounding in my ears. And there he was. Sitting leisurely in my chair—the C.E.O.’s chair—legs crossed, looking bored and smug while the rest of the board sat around him like he owned them. For a moment, the sight from last night dragged into my head—his wife’s mouth on me, the heat, the guilt. My chest tightened immediately, but seeing the smirk on his face made me push it down. “Marcus,” I said through gritted teeth, stepping toward him. His smirk grew. “Finally, brother. Thought you’d never come out of hiding.” “Hiding?” I shot back. “Yes,” he said, leaning back into the chair like it was his throne. “Mom told me you’ve barely left your room since last week.” My jaw tightened, my eyes flashing red in anger. “And you think that gives you the right to go behind my back, call my board together, and start making decisions?” I thundered raucously. “Oh…” He tilted his head, his tone mocking. “I thought Mom had told you already.” “I never agreed to this. All of you out.” My voice was sharp as I looked at the rest of the board members, who flinched at once. Chairs scraped back immediately as they started to get up—until Marcus’s voice cut in behind me. “Nobody moves a f*****g inch.” I turned fast, my shoulders squaring. “What the f**k do you think you’re doing?” His smile turned colder. “The exact f**k you think this is. I’m having a meeting with the board; the least you could do is sit your ass down and listen.” He said, eyes narrowing at me. I scoffed. “You’re kidding, right?” I snapped, then looked back at the board. “What are you all waiting for? Out!” I growled angrily, and this time, they didn’t wait another second before they rushed for the door. Marcus chuckled low behind me. “Look at you giving orders now… not the loser of a brother I remember from five years ago.” My fists curled at my sides, nails biting into my palms as I turned sharply to face him. “Why are you doing this? You’ve got Malcolm’s. Why come after Creed?” I rasped furiously, my chest rising and falling. “No…” He tapped his fingers on my desk, slow and deliberate. “The question is, why are you so interested? It’s not even yours.” “Yeah, but I built it up.” He rolled his eyes. “Oh, please. Not even worth talking about.” He stood and walked toward me in that lazy, dangerous way of his. “If you want,” he said, his tone light but his stare sharp, “I can pay you off. Millions, billions—name your price.” He leaned forward to pat my shoulder, but I knocked his hand away, my glare never leaving his face. “You don’t know what Creed means to me.” “And I don’t care,” he said, shrugging lightly. “All I know is I’m taking it back.” “And you think I’m just going to hand it over?” His eyes went cold as he raised a brow at me. “What? You wouldn’t fight me for my own inheritance, would you?” “Not when it means everything to me.” "Fine," he smirked just as he walked past me and started making for the door. “I want to see how far you’ll go, little brother. But just know you don't even stand a chance.” He jibed as he clutched onto the doorknob, and just as he started twisting it open, something came into my mind, and I stopped him. “Wait.” I called out lowly. He stopped immediately in his tracks; his grip on the doorknob loosened, but he didn't turn to face me. “Mom thinks Creed could be the way to fix things. If I gave it to you… would you drop the fight between us?” I tried to bargain even though I knew it was pointless. "What?!" As expected, he let out a deep, irritated scoff, and he then turned slowly to face me. “You think I’m that stupid? That I’d forget everything that happened—for a goddamn company?” My chest tightened immediately, my pulse drumming loudly in my ears. If he keeps talking like that, he'll make it sound as if he was the only one who suffered that night, meanwhile we all did. “I also lost something too that night.” I murmured, letting all the pain and guilt I have been carrying inside me for years now into my voice. "If I recall correctly," I continued, noticing his eyes darkening at my words, but I didn't mind as I kept going, my voice dropping even lower now."I’m the one who got hurt the most from all of it.” For a moment, I saw something flicker across his eyes, but he didn't give me time to picture it before he shut it down. “Yeah,” he nodded, his tone flat and cold as usual. “But it’s still not enough. Maybe if you’d f*****g died that night and spared me the misery of seeing your face every day… making me remember it all over again, then maybe I’d have felt better than I do right now.” He spat out his voice, full of spite and venom. I froze, his words cutting deep into my chest. My jaw clenched so hard it hurt as I stared in pain, anger, and maybe disbelief. "You wished I'd died?" "No, not just died." He stepped closer, his eyes locking onto mine as he muttered. "I wish you'd f*****g burned." His teeth clenched. "Yes, I wish you'd f*****g burned to death...alongside everything you made me lose..." He shrieked, then he shifted back, his fists clenching at the sides as if he was trying to stop himself from doing something bad to me... I saw the rise and fullness of his chest and noticed how his breathing came out uneven. "Marcus..." "You want my forgiveness so bad, right?" He turned away from me instantly and headed straight for the door, his hand clutching the knob as he turned to look at me o ne more time. "Then go f*****g kill yourself, and maybe I'd consider it!" He dropped open the door and then stormed out.
