Yes, I Can Love A gasp rippled through the gathered Angels of Light. For a breathless moment, the heavens seemed to forget how to move. “She has chosen,” one voice whispered. “No… she cannot,” another replied, sharp with disbelief. Lovely stood at the center of the battlefield, her wings glowing with a radiance that trembled but did not falter. Before her was Azrael, Angel of Death, demon-born, bearer of shadows the Council had long feared. Behind her stood expectation. Before her stood truth. The Council of Light rose as one, their forms blazing. “Lovely,” the eldest called, voice echoing across the shattered sky, “step away. Think of what you are doing.” Lovely lifted her chin. “I am thinking. For the first time, I am thinking for myself.” Murmurs spread like wildfire. “You would choose a demon over the heavens?” another councilor demanded. Azrael’s jaw tightened. “If you wish to condemn me, do it. But do not pretend this is about corruption. This is about fear.” “Silence,” the Council thundered. Lovely did not step back. She turned to Azrael, her voice softer now. “They see what you are,” she said, “but they have never seen who you are.” Azrael searched her face. “Lovely… if this costs you everything—” She reached for his hand. Gasps echoed louder this time as their fingers intertwined. The moment their touch connected, the battlefield shuddered. Light surged from Lovely, darkness rose from Azrael, and instead of clashing, they folded into one another—warm, steady, whole. Harmony spread like a living wave. “What is this?” a councilor cried. “Impossible,” another whispered. The ground split gently, not in destruction but revelation. A hidden realm unfolded before them—a secret sanctuary where elders long believed lost to time stood watching in awe, beings of three hundred years whose wisdom had been buried out of fear. “There was never anything to fear,” one of the elders said, voice trembling. “We hid the truth instead of trusting it.” Lovely turned to the Council. “Your laws were built to prevent chaos,” she said, “but love is not chaos. Love is balance.” The eldest councilor lowered his gaze. “And if the heavens fall?” “Then we rebuild them,” Azrael said quietly. “Together.” Silence followed. Then—footsteps. “Enough.” A familiar voice broke through the tension. Elizabeth stepped forward, radiant and calm, followed by Lovely’s father. The crowd parted instinctively. “My daughter,” Elizabeth said, opening her arms. Lovely ran to her, tears finally spilling as her mother held her close. “I was so afraid,” Lovely admitted. Elizabeth smiled through her own tears. “And yet, you were brave.” Her father placed a steady hand on Azrael’s shoulder. “You protected her when no one was watching,” he said. “That tells me more than any prophecy.” Azrael bowed his head. “I love her,” he said simply. “That much is clear,” her father replied. “And you have our blessing.” A stunned hush followed. “The guardians approve?” a councilor whispered. Elizabeth turned to the Council. “You raised her to serve the realms,” she said. “But you forgot to let her live in them.” The Council of Light slowly descended from their thrones. “Let it be written,” the eldest declared at last, “that this union stands—not as defiance, but as prophecy fulfilled.” Light swept the sky. Cheers rose—hesitant at first, then stronger—as angels and beings of every realm felt the shift. The war-torn battlefield softened into something new. Peace. — Years later. The fire crackled gently as Lovely’s voice drifted through the chamber. “And that,” she said with a smile, “This is how the realms learned a new truth.” A young girl with glowing amber eyes leaned forward eagerly. Her small wings flickered with flame. “Did they really think you couldn’t love?” Azure, Angel of Fire, asked. Lovely laughed softly. “They did.” Azure frowned. “That’s silly.” “But is papa actually a demon ” She asked with curiosity Nope his the brother of your uncle Luke his the first angel to her dark wings so they claimed he brought calamity and kept him away to send the dead angel to the after world “Thats unfortunate Papa wasn’t treated fairly“ Azure face was filled with anger Azrael chuckled from his seat nearby. “Many fears aren’t what they seem to be , people judge by looks not what’s within.” Azure tilted her head. “Mama, what did you say at the end?” Lovely’s smile softened as she brushed her daughter’s hair back. “I said something I had once been too afraid to believe.” She met Azrael’s gaze, warmth filling the room. “ ‘Yes,’ ” Lovely whispered, “ ‘I can love.’ ” Azure grinned. “I like that story.” Lovely kissed her forehead. “So did the realms.” And beyond the chamber walls, the legend endured—whispered across heaven and underworld alike. A reminder that even in the darkest times… Love will always find a way. Mama Am glad you were able to show them that azure giggled But it’s almost noon Mama can you take me flying I want to try using my powers now. Don’t lie to your mum we both know you want to meet your uncle Luke , Azrael said Papa why do you always do this azure asked because I love you…. They all giggled to his words .
