AFTER MATH

Lexi couldn't shake off the feeling of excitement as she left the rooftop bar. She had never felt such a strong connection with someone before, and the prospect of seeing Ethan again was exhilarating.

As she walked home, she couldn't help but think about their conversation. They had talked about everything from their jobs to their favorite books and movies. It was like they had known each other for years, not just hours.

When she arrived home, Lexi checked her phone, hoping to find a message from Ethan. There wasn't one, but she couldn't help but feel optimistic. After all, he had said he would call her.

Just as Lexi was starting to lose hope, her phone rang. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw an unknown number on the screen.

"Hello?" she answered, trying to sound casual.

"Lexi, it's Ethan," the voice on the other end said. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything important."

Lexi's heart fluttered at the sound of his voice. "Not at all," she said, trying to play it cool. "How are you?"

"I'm good," Ethan replied. "I was thinking, since we got along so well the other night, maybe we could grab coffee or dinner sometime this week?"

Lexi's heart raced with excitement. "I'd love to," she said, trying to sound nonchalant.

They made plans to meet for coffee the following day, and Lexi couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She had a feeling that this was just the beginning of something special.

As she hung up the phone, Lexi couldn't help but wonder what the future held for her and Ethan. Would their connection last, or would it fizzle out like so many other relationships?
