Adrian’s POV   I watched Isla rise and walk out. The door shut quietly behind her. I listened until I heard her footsteps fade.   I should have summoned a guard to walk her to her chambers. To make sure she didn’t detour or try anything stupid.   For some reason I didn’t have the gut instinct that she would try to escape…tonight anyway. But perhaps that was giving her too much grace.   The nerve of her to suggest she be sent on a mission that could protect our pack.
